As a bakery owner, Duff Goldman receives some VERY unusual requests from customers, and he's using them as the inspiration for a "Make It Work" desserts challenge. In this test, bakers must make a delicious dessert using an unexpected flavor combination, like strawberry and balsamic or banana and grapefruit. The kid bakers who can go with the flow move on, while the least successful dessert maker goes home.

Duff Goldman and Kardea Brown bring the merriment when four unforgettable kid bakers return for the holidays to make reindeer cakes with 3D antlers. The winning baker takes home all the gifts in the $10,000 prize package of seasonal baking tools.

With their plush tails, pointy ears, brightly colored manes and, of course, magical horns, there’s a lot to love about unicorns. Duff Goldman and Valerie Bertinelli challenge the eight kid bakers to use their imaginations to create a unicorn cake that illustrates a specific emotion.

To kick off the season, Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman are going back to the 1970s as they challenge the 12 young competitors to make shag cakes. Each baker must make a cake in their chosen flavor and then decorate it to create a shag texture. Groovy, man!

Part of running a successful business is being a good leader, so Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman hold interviews to hire two team leaders who will assign flavors in the cream puff cake challenge to give their team the best chance at winning. Bakers with the same flavors are put head-to-head during judgement, and the side with the most wins earns immunity for their whole team. One baker from the losing side heads for the exit.

A new group of kid bakers introduce themselves via delicious "selfieclairs"; using a selfie as inspiration, the bakers create eclairs in assigned flavors and then decorate them to serve as a pate a choux pastry introduction.

It's the beloved imposters challenge, and hosts and judges Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman ask the young bakers to create grilled dessert imposters with side dishes like ribs and mac 'n' cheese or hot dogs and baked beans. The least successful baker goes home.

Desserts get a balanced hit of sweet, savory, bitter and sour from Chinese five-spice powder, which is a mix of star anise, Szechuan peppercorns, fennel, cinnamon and clove. For this challenge, Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman ask the seven young bakers to create Chinese five-spice desserts to stay in the game.

A successful business often captures the public's attention with a unique product or a new spin on familiar things. Duff Goldman and Valerie Bertinelli challenge the biz bakers to tantalize their customers by combining two sweet treats into one dessert mash-up, such as Cheesecake and Eclairs, Pecan Pie and Donuts, Brownies and Tiramisu, and more. In the end, one baker is eliminated.

This isn't your grandma's cookie! Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman challenge the kid bakers to put their own stamp on one of today's biggest trends: the loaded cookie. They want the bakers to really go crazy while making batches of two different types of over-the-top cookies. The more toppings, filling and frosting the better for this semi-final challenge!

It's time for lunch, and cafeteria lunch dessert imposters are on the menu! Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman assign each kid baker a different lunch menu with items they must "imposterize" and serve up on a classic cafeteria tray.

Smurfs are taking over the kitchen! Inspired by the movie "Smurfs," Duff Goldman and Kardea Brown ask the remaining seven bakers to create a Smurf dome cake that illustrates what kind of Smurf they would be! Then, since the Smurfs travel to Australia in the movie, the young bakers must make a cookie decorated to look like an animal found in Australia.

Everyone needs a place to call home -- especially farm animals! Duff Goldman and Kardea Brown test the bakers' skills by asking them to build yummy cookie animal houses. The choice of cookie and flavor is up to the bakers, but Duff demonstrates the best ways to glue together cookie panels before the challenge. For a twist, the competitors must also whip up haystack cookies and a water trough of dipping sauce for the hungry animals.

For the final big bake, Duff Goldman and Kardea Brown encourage the last three bakers to "think outside the cage" and create a zoo cake inspired by the monkey enclosure, the African safari enclosure and the forest predators enclosure. Then, since people love to eat popcorn at the zoo, for the last twist of the season, the young bakers must use popcorn in their zoo cake. The most successful cake maker will earn the title of Kids Baking Champion and $25,000!

Garden-themed decorating is gaining in popularity, so Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman challenge the 11 young bakers to create garden cakes decorated with actual fruits, herbs and other natural ingredients -- no glitter, sprinkles or fondant allowed.

What's that beautiful arc of color in the sky? It's a rainbow! For this challenge, Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman task the 10 young bakers with working in teams to create vibrant and dazzling cupcake rainbows.

For the finale, Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman focus on biomes -- large regions of Earth with specific climates that are home to certain types of living things. The three final bakers must make cakes based on a specific biome: rainforest, desert or coral reef. The young baker with the best biome cake earns $25,000 and the title of Kids Baking Champion!

The kids will go head-to-head in a team challenge that finally decides which cake flavor is better, chocolate or vanilla. The winning cake earns immunity for their whole team, and one baker from the losing team is sent home.

The key to growing a small business is getting good reviews, and food festivals are the perfect place for new customers to sample food and create "buzz." Duff Goldman and Valerie Bertinelli ask the bakers to create festival-friendly desserts in a jar, like cheesecake, banana pudding, brownies, lemon meringue pie or strawberry shortcake. Then, the bakers taste each other's treats, and the business with the most "thumbs up" earns immunity from elimination, while the least successful dessert maker goes home.

Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman challenge the kid bakers to make tie-dyed doughnuts and ice cream with two different flavored swirls. It's a lot of color, flavors and fun as the four remaining bakers compete for the three spots in the finale.

Game on! The remaining eight bakers are challenged by Duff Goldman and Kardea Brown to make paw print gridiron desserts inspired by Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. Special guest Dan the Ref keeps everyone in line while real live football-playing puppies motivate the bakers. In a twist, the competitors are tasked with making dessert bark from scratch. Finally, it's a gridiron tasting battle on the football field as the same types of desserts face off head-to-head.

Get ready for cuteness overload! Rudy the mini horse joins Duff Goldman and Kardea Brown to introduce everyone's favorite challenge -- dessert imposters! The kid bakers must create imposters of their assigned animal's favorite food, and before the challenge, Duff shows off some airbrush techniques to prep them for success. For a twist, the competitors need to incorporate an herb, spice or veggie into their dessert that is safe for their animal to eat.

Duff Goldman and Kardea Brown are embracing bugs and the soil they call home when they challenge the five remaining bakers to make edible terrariums featuring assigned insects. Plus, since bugs love flowers, the bakers must create an edible flower to feature in their terrarium.

Cute little pets serve as the inspiration for incredible sweets when the last five kid bakers standing must create a dessert inspired by the animal they are paired with, which could be a guinea pig, turtle, rabbit, mini pig or silkie chicken.

In this challenge, the kid bakers are asked to create dessert imposters — a sweet treat masquerading as a savory item. How convincingly will the bakers be able to make delicious sweets that look like tacos and bagels?

And because astronauts in space eat freeze-dried foods, the bakers must also use freeze-dried ingredients in their out-of-this-world creations.

Macarons are a wildly popular dessert, and macarons decorated with faces are a definite trend; Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman challenge the nine young bakers to create macarons decorated with happy faces and sad faces.

For the finale, the last three kid bakers are given five hours to create an original superhero cake and describe their superhero's powers during tasting. Who will win this last challenge and fly off with $25,000?
