A mini challenge designed to determine who will cook in the team challenge ahead, sees the contestants cook a French inspired dessert.

The finalists battle it out to secure the $100,000 cash prize, an Alfa Romeo Giulietta, a cookbook deal with New Holland and access to Australia’s best kitchens.

Masterclass 4 - The perfect chip - Snapper in a Bag and Chunky Chips, Risotto with Pumpkin and Goat’s Cheese, Rib Eye Steak with Red Wine Sauce and Spinach

The losing team face elimination. But this is not just any elimination - five contestants must get ready for a double elimination. Only three will survive and become part of the Top 10.

Devon, Courtney, Philip, Jimmy, Jake and Peter competed in the final round for one of 3 spots back in the competition. They were faced with an Invention Test, with the freedom to choose from an extensive range of ingredients. In a twist, it was the Top 7 contestants who were unknowingly deciding their fate; judging the six dishes under the pretence of learning how to critique a dish. The seven plus Matt Preston were unanimous in their decision.

Andy reveals that every challenge this week will be a service challenge and all 16 contestants are in with a chance at winning immunity from Sunday's elimination.

With one contestant already through to the semi-final, the remaining three contestants compete in a service challenge at the three-hatted Vue de Monde restaurant in Melbourne.

It's a mega MasterClass tonight as Gary and Matt Moran teach the top 21 contestants about raw foods, herbs, and oils. Later Gary whips up a mushroom gnocchi and his 'Mum's Lamb Stew with Dumplings'.

George's mum arrives in the Masterchef Kitchen to put the contestants through their paces. Mary Calombaris is a true Greek master. Her koupes, tzatziki and shamishi will be hard to replicate.

Tonight the remaining contestants invite 24 very special Qantas guests into the MasterChef restaurant for an 8-course feast based on Neil Perry's first class menu.

Adam and Callum faced three rounds in the finale, worth 100 points in total. The first round involves basic skills tests. The second round is an invention test. The final round is a pressure test, cooking a Peter Gilmore dessert.

Teams were faced with preparing a hearty buffet lunch for 100 Australian soldiers. Starting at Holsworthy army base, contestants trekked to the field kitchen where they tackled creating a suitable menu. Teams came up with a few similar dishes and were forced to negotiate compromise in their menus. The Red Team struggled with their dessert, and Callum was chastised by the judges for his poor handling of the situation.

"Afternoon Tea" theme. It was revealed to the contestants that this Invention Test would take place in London. After settling in at the Langham Hotel, the contestants first challenge for the week was to invent a pastry, drawing inspiration from one of the Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom. Callum won the challenge and was rewarded with a private MasterClass with Jamie Oliver as well as attending the announcement of the World's 50 Best Restaurants with Matt Preston. Jonathan was chosen by Callum to share the reward.

Gary and George showed the contestants how to make the perfect pizza, while Gary also served up an English rice pudding, and George cooked up some chicken oysters with homous and fatoush.

Invention Test 7 - Three course meal, 'Romance' theme

In this mammoth elimination challenge, the contestants discover not only will they be cooking a four-course meal for the MasterChef judges, but for six of the hottest chefs in the country.

The three best performers in the invention test are vying for immunity. Marco Pierre White sets them a 30 minute challenge with unlimited pantry access.

For this challenge, two pantries are on offer: a European pantry and an Eastern pantry. By the toss of a coin, the team that win the toss get to choose their desired pantry.

Jock introduces Kate Reid, the mastermind behind Lune Croissanterie. Contestants must use Kate's world-class pastry and turn it into a dish that is not a croissant.

Four contestants are told they will have two-and-a-half hours to prepare a three-course menu. But the catch is that after each course is tasted, one contestant will be knocked out of the competition.

Contestants must create a dish using ingredients from culinary king Marco Pierre White's array of pantry items that he uses at home. The least impressive dish will ensure elimination for its maker.

It's been months of nail-biting challenges, but there can only be one winner to walk away with the life-changing title of Australia's MasterChef 2019

For this pressure test, Chocolate Queen Kirsten Tibballs presents her intricate cherry on top dessert. The dish that least replicates Kirsten's delicious dessert will send its maker home.

At the beautiful grounds of the O.MY Farm, contestants are split into 3 teams of 2. After foraging for one ingredient to hero in a dish, only THEN do they find out what course they’ll be cooking!

The elimination challenge sees the contestants having to bid against each other for the items they want to cook with in an auction, and instead of money, they’ll bid with minutes.

Slow and steady keeps their place! Facing elimination, contestants embark on a two-day challenge with 45 minutes to marinate, pickle, brine and more in an overnight cook to finish off the next day.

The top 10 are split into two teams and given the challenge of creating a main dish and a dessert for 25 couples.

Who will make the finals? With no set rules in place, the contestants must mutually decide the cook time to create a dish, sweet or savoury, that best proves to the judges they have come back to win.

After a long week of hard fought challenges the remaining twelve contestants compete in a French Pressure test to claim the last remaining spots in the Top 24. But whose dish will earn them an apron?

The stakes are high as the three remaining contestants fight it out for the two places in the finale. One contestant will cook their last dish in the MasterChef Australia kitchen.

The five top contestants are greeted by Legendary British chef and MasterChef UK judge, John Torode, and a live cow. Torode announces that they must cook the perfect sauce to accompany the perfect steak.

Kate and Michael arrived at the MasterChef kitchen for the final time and were told the format of finale: it would be fought over three rounds, each scored, with a possible 100 points per finalist up for grabs. The first round was a Mystery Box Challenge over 45 minutes, with the finalists having to select and prepare something from each box before moving onto the next. Michael chose to make a steak and oyster pie, while Kate made pan-fried Balmain bugs and crab and rémoulade salad. Michael raced through the boxes, but Kate struggled with getting her crabmeat ready, eating into valuable time. Michael scored an 8 from George and 9 from Gary, and Kate a 7 and an 8, giving Michael the early advantage.

This semifinal is a pressure test set by acclaimed Quay executive chef Peter Gilmore. The three contestants who do the most impressive job recreating the dish will earn their spot in the grand finale.

The bottom team from the previous challenge are presented with an array of condiments they must identify correctly. The first five to guess incorrectly head into an elimination cook. Plus, a Masterclass with Nigella.

Contestants must correctly identify ingredients in three dishes from Nick Holloway's Nu Nu menu. The five contestants who name the least amount of ingredients correctly will cook off in round two.

Expect the unexpected with a season of secrets and surprises. Judges Melissa Leong, Jock Zonfrillo and Andy Allen are joined by special guest Jamie Oliver.

The boys versus girls Barossa Boot Camp reaches its conclusion and it is also the final day for two MasterChef contestants.

With immunity up for grabs, contestants will work in pairs to create a savoury & sweet jaffle in 45 minutes. The winning pair will then need to out cook professional chefs to secure an immunity pin.
