But when Tash finds a hair in her chicken, and Lee finds a greenfly in an edible pansy can Judy and Will pull their evening back? Finally it's the turn of girlfriends Jess and Dale, who aim to take their guests on an Asian taste journey combining hot, sweet, and sour. There's a big shock in store for Will and Judy when Jess reveals a tattoo of their names on her arm but all is not what it seems, and when Jess takes something off at the table will it be all over for the lively duo? Or will they bring them home the grand?

This episode heads to the north east of England where married couple Kevin and Lalita kick off the competition with a menu inspired by Italian food and local produce. But their love of hearty portions proves a challenge for the other couples: loved-up Richard and Christine, and married couple Michelle and Charlotte. Some of the guests are left shocked when Kevin serves up black pudding, even though his wife is a pescatarian! Day two sees local girl Michelle and her southerner wife Charlotte put on an Asian themed evening. Finally, it's the turn of oldest couple Richard and Christine to host an evening of what they call dinner party classics. Their simple salad starter and French-inspired chicken leave Kevin thinking the grand is his for the taking. Is his confidence justified or will someone else scoop the cash?

In Manchester, Gillian and her husband Steve kick things off with a simple menu, which fails to please vegetarians Holly and Richard. And expectations are high for foodies Jen and Alex.

Finally it's Michelle and Matt's turn to host and Michelle continues in the same vein as she has all week.

Amanda and her husband Anthony kick off proceedings with an ambitious menu. First to the door are bank manager Steve and his civil partner Sean. Completing the line-up are festival-lover Oli and his girlfriend LC. Day two is the turn of happy campers, Oli and LC, who cook a fully vegetarian menu, and welcome their guests for drinks in a specially erected festival tent. Last to host are Sean and Steve. Anthony shocks everyone again with a revelation from his own wedding day before Steve reveals his personal 'Suarez' moment.

Toots and Jamie have been married for more than 20 years. Their eccentric menu reflects their unconventional approach to life. Day two is the turn of German born Kat, and her partner Scott, an RAF air cadet trainer. Their well-presented food is turned out with military precision, a theme reinforced by Scott taking his guests outside for a bit of parade ground drill practice! Last to host is self-confessed perfectionist Kevin, with partner Clare. Kevin sees himself as a bit of a 'masterchef' and goes into the final night brimming with confidence that his 'foodie' menu will blow away the competition.

Sam and Nick produce a simple menu which reflects their busy lives. With two businesses, and four children, they have very little time for anything else, and spend little time together. Second couple, Maria and her husband Terry, have been married an impressive 28 years. They create a night of Asian cuisine inspired by Terry's travels to Thailand. Last to host are computer salesman Dave and his girlfriend Sarah, who plan to focus their attention on a fun evening with good quality food. However, Sarah's exacting standards and attention to detail have the potential to derail their day. The evening ends on a high, as Dave and Sarah turn their galley kitchen into the 'world's smallest rock club', complete with decks, smoke machine, and flashing lights.

With some of the highest divorce rates in the country, three Essex couples hope to last the distance - or at least till the end of this competition - Asset manager Amie and hubby Mark got married last year, and Amie reckons she's in charge - not only of the relationship but in the kitchen too. Veterinary nurse Gemma and teacher Nathan have been together for six years, and Nathan unleashes some home truths about his other half, while the other contestants uncover something about his own quirky past. Completing the line-up are Simon and Suzanne, who've been married for 19 years. Suzanne's determined to win, but will Simon prove a hindrance when things hot up in the kitchen?

In Nottingham, Omer and his wife Adeeba, sustainable food growers Bobby and Alison, and Liz and Stuart compete in a week featuring experimental food, a compost loo and a stately home.

In Brighton, couple Geoff and Paula, competitive couple Richard and Jade, and Bonny and Dave compete in a week featuring glitz-and-glam, a kitchen catastrophe and some cheesy love chat.

In Cardiff, fun first-time hosts Abi and Jake, vegan couple Ashleigh and Jack, and 52-year-olds Karen and James compete in a week featuring some American grub and a fully plant-based menu.
