But the production goes from bad to worse when Barry goes missing for playing the lead, and an unlikely replacement steps in. Meanwhile, Erica takes Beverly to go clothes shopping. When a situation at the hip store goes awry, Erica decides to make her own version of the popular outfit she wants -using Beverly's own sweaters

Murray retaliates when Beverly swaps out his favorite easy chair with something new; Barry tries to rescue Adam when he is bullied on the school bus.

Beverly intercepts the mix tape Adam made for Dana, thinking he made it for her. Barry shows off his new fake I.D., which is quickly confiscated.

When Murray is honored as one of Jenkintown’s top businessmen, his plaque is hung on a wall with all of the other honorees. And soon Beverly is dismayed to learn he has no discernable hobbies, and her attempts to help him find some backfire. Meanwhile, Barry creates a scheme stealing golf carts, but the situation goes awry and Erica comes to save the day.

Inspired by "The Goonies," Adam recruits Barry, Emma and some friends to search for some missing family jewelry.

Inspired by the "Karate Kid" films, Adam and the other Adam Goldberg face off in a karate match to settle once and for all a long-running feud. Barry and Adam go to Uncle Marvin for training, but the only thing they learn is how to clean an apartment. Meanwhile, when Erica and Geoff's relationship becomes public, they realize that they aren't the good guys.

Barry and Erica forget to get a Mother's Day gift.

Beverly invites the Kremps -- the all-American and seemingly perfect new neighbors -- over for a barbecue.

Barry feels threatened when school deadhead Matt starts hanging out with the JTP and soon finds himself kicked out of the group when he becomes too controlling. Back at home, Adam uses a curse word which sends Beverly into a tail spin, even though she curses all of the time. To curb everyone’s behavior, a swear jar is created, with the money going to a vacation of the winner’s choice.

Beverly substitutes for Barry’s chemistry class in hopes to inspire students in the same way as Mr. Keating from “Dead Poets Society,” much to Barry’s embarrassment. When Beverly refuses to give Barry special treatment, Murray pushes Barry to work hard and prove to her that he can get a good grade. Meanwhile, after accidentally embarrassing Emmy by reading a note about her in class, Adam enlists Erica’s help to be a better friend.

When Lainey moves back to town, Barry asks her to the prom; but when she says no, he plans a senior prank with Principal Ball's car to get out of going. Meanwhile, Erica tells Murray she has made a final decision about her future in college, and he is furious and insists she pay her own way for rent and food.

Barry accuses Beverly of liking Adam best; and Murray immediately takes a disliking to Erica's new beau, while Erica develops a fondness of the band Rush.

Beverly can't accept Adam has deep feelings for Dana. Murray watches football with Lainey's dad.

When both Barry and Erica gets jobs working at Spencer’s Gifts, Erica gets jealous at how good of an employee Barry is. Meanwhile, Muray is thrilled that two of his children have jobs, so he insists that Adam gets one, despite Beverly’s adamancy that he should focus on filmmaking,

Beverly compromises Dana and Adam's assignment to parent a doll; Erica tries to get back at Barry.

After the family cleans out the garage, Adam and Barry become unlikely fans of a boy band.

However, their bonding doesn't last long due to a slighted Adam. Meanwhile, Beverly's Turkey Day plans go awry after she invites Bill and Lainey to celebrate the holiday

Adam tries to impress Murray with his ice hockey skills, while Murray tries to pretend he likes Adam's movies; Beverly hounds Erica about her S.A.T.s.

Adam decides to start writing horror stories after being inspired by Stephen King; when Beverly finds out that the monster in Adam's story is based off of her, she makes him stay home on Halloween to rewrite the story to depict her in better light.

Upset by Barry's insecurity in their relationship, Lainey sets out to teach him a lesson with Erica's help. However, the situation turns into something totally different and Barry goes to school dressed like Boy George hoping it will change. Meanwhile, Beverly doesn't approve Murray's new mustache so she shaves it off but it backfires.

Beverly forbids Adam to see the movie "Porky's," so Murray pushes him to break the rules. But the plan backfires when Beverly forbids Adam to use the phone for Valentine's Day. Meanwhile, Barry tries too hard to impress Lainey for the holiday using the music of Lionel Ritchie.

Barry feels left out, so he tries to create a divide between the relationship of Adam and Pops, while they debate the merits of a movie; Erica intentionally messes up her.

Adam returns to William Penn Academy as a senior and wrestles with the fact that he is a cool kid and no longer a nerd while his original friend group isn’t as lucky. Meanwhile, Beverly attempts to have a more grown-up relationship with Erica and Barry before they head back to college.

When the Flyers make it to the Stanley Cup Finals, Barry implements superstitious protocols that the family must follow; per Geoff's request, Lou and Linda spend some quality time with Muriel.

Geoff and Erica realize they are in different places in college; Beverly tries to find a new purpose in her life as she seeks political office as the city comptroller.

Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) worried sick that Adam is running in too fast a crowd, pulls out the ultimate stop to end it all. Meanwhile, Barry (Troy Gentile) faces the harsh reality that medical school is tougher than anticipated.

Things are finally working out for Adam - until he receives a letter from NYU that could change everything; when Barry hears the JTP have other friends outside their crew, he fears the end of their posse as they know it.

Missing his Pops, Adam finds himself disenchanted with his once favorite time of year, Halloween, until Beverly encourages Pop Pop to spend time with his grandson. Barry decides to bring his former alter ego, rapper "Big Tasty," back to life; and a chance encounter with the legendary Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, brings Barry and Joanne closer together.

The country music craze hits the town, and everyone is line dancing; Adam scores a new job, but his lack of time to spend with Pop-Pop results in some comically disastrous outcomes.

With both sides of the family eager for answers on Geoff and Erica's pregnancy, they decide to keep their baby's sex a surprise. However, a sonagram finding from Lou Schwartz might provide an unexpected discovery. Meanwhile, Adam recruits Glascott to help his mother cope with his departure for NYU; but when he later has a change of heart about heading off to college, he sources a job as the personal assistant to a special celebrity to help lessen the blow when news of his deferred enrollment is delivered to Beverly.  

In homage to the classic Halloween movies of the '80s, Geoff's terror over Beverly controlling all baby-care duties turns into a jump-scare-filled comedic thriller. Meanwhile, Adam is excited to spend Halloween visiting Dave Kim at NYU; however, his feelings change when he discovers that Dave Kim has reinvented himself.

Beverly decides to join Adam and Brea on their much-anticipated beachside vacation in Miami to take of care of Pops' possessions at his Florida condominium. Meanwhile, Barry's celebratory joy after acing the MCAT is short-lived after Erica becomes the local hero when she saves a man from choking at the mall food court.

After a mold issue at home forces Erica and Geoff to stay at the Goldberg house, Beverly senses tensions in their marriage and seizes the opportunity to impart a little marital advice.

When Murray goes out of town, Jane Bales (Leslie Grossman) attempts to make a power grab at the Ottoman Empire, forcing Beverly to retaliate. Meanwhile, Adam is thrilled to learn that Dave Kim (Kenny Ridwan) also plans to attend NYU. The excitement is short-lived when Adam weighs the cost of his popularity after the two agree to be college roommates.

With Adam's graduation approaching, Beverly debates staying on as William Penn Academy's Quaker Warden. Forever butting heads with principal Ball, her choice also affects his decision to stay or not. Meanwhile, Erica tries to get out of the Schwartz's longstanding tradition of dinner together every Sunday and the subsequent household chores. She soon realizes the importance of finding balance between the demands of family and marriage.

When Erica and Geoff plan a joint bachelor/bachelorette party at the beach, Barry finds himself face-to-face with his ex-girlfriends and their current boyfriends - causing him to spiral in his attempt to stand out during the festivities. Meanwhile, Adam decides to intervene when Lou takes over planning the wedding video, ultimately bringing the families together.

Senior Night is upon William Penn Academy, and Beverly soon discovers she is missing out on the ceremonial adoration presented to mothers with athletic children.  Much to Adam's embarrassment, Beverly pushes for her moment to shine with a kiss and a rose and encourages Principal Ball to establish a Non-Athlete Senior Night.  As Adam attempts to foil his mother's plans, Erica finds herself lacking any interested friends to appoint "pre-wedding fun captain." Reluctantly she engages her eager "sister-in-law to be" Joanna, who inadvertently doesn't meet expectations but ultimately proves herself worthy of being called sister.

Beverly surprises the family with an end-of-summer vacation to Miami with the flight down resembling the classic film, and Geoff accidentally spills to Erica the real reason for the trip.

After realizing there may be trouble in lovers' paradise for Erica and Geoff, Beverly involves herself in their relationship as well as Barry and Joanne's to make sure everyone stays together. Meanwhile, Adam and Brea are cast opposite of each other in the school play, but their excitement for one another's success grows dim when one starts to outshine the other onstage.

Beverly's meddling in Adam's relationship with Brea leads to a confrontation with her divorced mother, Vicki. Meanwhile, Barry struggles to reunite the JTP following his breakup with Ren.

When Adam takes Beverly to her high school reunion, a la "Back to the Future," he tries to end a reality where she winds up with the wrong man. Meanwhile, Barry and Joanne make a surprising decision to prove the seriousness of their relationship.

It's Thanksgiving, and no one crushes Turkey Day like Beverly Goldberg; though, with the loss of Murray, this holiday feels a bit different. Geoff and Erica are stressed over the new baby; and, even more worrisome, an unexpected Goldberg relative arrives. With everyone highly suspicious of this unforeseen visitor, things are likely to go off the rails at any moment.

Mr. Glascott moves in next door and slowly goes from friendly neighbor to cluelessly intrusive, until Beverly comes up with a plan to occupy his time with a new friend. Barry lands in urgent care with a case of poison ivy in a compromising area - his rear end, testing Erica and Geoff's parenting skills.

When the NFL players go on strike and the football season is threatened, Barry gets concerned that he and Murray will no longer have anything to talk about which leads Barry to try out for the Eagles team himself. Against Erica's advice, Beverly decides to start selling a nutritional product from a sketchy company in an attempt to gain financial independence.

Adam is distraught to discover he's been wait-listed at NYU while his girlfriend, Brea, has been accepted. Adam courts the NYU dean of admissions, hoping she will change her mind on his deferral.

When Beverly realizes that she and Murray are not quite as in sync as they once were after a game night with the very-much-in-love Dolores and Bill, Beverly convinces Murray to get a hot tub to spend time together. Geoff tries out a new look for himself.

Erica and Geoff decide to throw a party to prove to others and themselves that they can still have fun as a young, engaged couple. Meanwhile, Beverly assumes control of William Penn Academy as "acting principal" and presses the school faculty to put together a "Fame"-themed send-off for the senior class.

Bill is getting married and Beverly and Jane have only 24 hours to plan it. Meanwhile, a fortune teller at the wedding reception could change the future for Adam, Erica and Barry's romantic life.

Following Erica and Geoff’s breakup, Murray decides to take Erica out on a daddy-daughter date to cheer her up. Meanwhile, Adam is excited to participate in the school senior prank until his conscience catches up with him and he enlists Beverly’s help to get him out of it.

Business rival and nemesis "Formica" Mike attempts to make an offer Murray can't refuse by buying Ottoman Empire. Meanwhile, Adam offers Ms. Cinoman his and Erica's original show when William Penn cannot secure the rights to a well-known spring musical to stage.

When Beverly steps in for PE coach at William Penn Academy, Adam reluctantly takes her Jazzercise class. He is surprised to find enjoyment in it, until Beverly suffers an embarrassing incident - causing Adam the ultimate humiliation. Brea steps in to show Adam his mother's good intentions and he ultimately comes to her defense. Meanwhile, Barry and Geoff find themselves both up for the same medical internship - causing conflict in their budding friendship.

Adam finds himself in a pickle when he's recruited to film his high school's final football game of the year and fails to capture his team's winning touchdown. Beverly discovers her neighbor is moving and she's determined to buy his home.

When Beverly learns that Linda Schwartz will host Thanksgiving this year, she becomes concerned that her role as family hostess - and more importantly as Erica's mom - is threatened. Meanwhile, Pop-Pop surprises the family by showing up with a new "lady friend."

Erica, Barry and Adam are not happy when their distant relative Gleb visits from Russia, until they realize he can make their lives so much easier. Meanwhile, Beverly starts working on her cookbook, which causes tension with the Frentas.

Despite promising to keep distance from Brea so they can each establish themselves at college, Adam calls her, sending Beverly into a tailspin. Meanwhile, Joanne lands a coveted job at a posh Philly law firm and Barry takes full advantage of the perks of her new gig, blinding him from the reality of the situation.  

Murray buys WrestleMania tickets to spend time with Barry and Adam, but he buys fake tickets and they can't get in; Beverly forms her own neighborhood watch group when the Frentas decide neighbor Jane Bales will be the watch captain.

Pop-Pop surprises the family with an ill-advised winter cruise to Canada. Meanwhile, Erica stirs up holiday trouble at home on an all-new Hanukkah-themed episode.

Upon their return home from college orientation, Adam and Brea each confess a secret that could affect the future of their relationship. Meanwhile, Barry and Beverly openly admit their love of ice-dancing and explore their shared passion together.

Sleigh bells are ringing! When Erica buys a festive baby toy, Beverly goes full on Grinch in an attempt to steal Christmas. Meanwhile, Adam discovers some surprising information about Brea, and the JTP host their first holiday party.

Beverly enlists the help of Barry and Erica to teach Adam to be more assertive, but Adam feels guilty after taking it too far. Meanwhile, Murray resolves to be a better friend after learning that Vic doesn’t think he can confide in him.

Beverly enlists the help of Erica, who has recently declared pre-law as her major, to sue her cookbook publisher after finding her book in the bargain bin at a bookstore. Meanwhile, Adam and Pops bond while taking a trip on the wild.

Trying to move on from their breakup, Erica goes on a date with a guy from the coffee shop while Geoff ends up on an episode of "The Dating Game," which winds up making things even more difficult for them both. Meanwhile, Beverly is thrilled to learn that Murray has spontaneously purchased a shore house until she realizes it's not quite the luxury home she imagined.

While throwing a telethon at their college to raise money for Earth Day, Barry attempts to woo Ren when he overpromises he can get Hall & Oates to perform. Meanwhile, Beverly attempts to set Bill up, but things go awry when he finds happiness with a woman he meets through Beverly's enemy

Adam and Brea attempt remaining just friends post-breakup, while Beverly goes out of her way to protect Adam from further heartbreak. Meanwhile, Barry tries to get closer with Erica.

With her due date approaching, Erica is over the exhausting pregnancy and demands a "babymoon." When things take an unforeseen turn, Geoff is tasked with producing the one person Erica needs more than anyone. Meanwhile, Adam and Barry seek out advice on "uncle-ing" from some unexpected sources.  

Mr.Glascott embarks on a mission to petition the neighborhood to close the local water park down, while Barry plots to thwart his efforts. Erica is faced with frustration as Beverly takes over her wedding planning.

After learning no one made the deposit on the wedding venue, Geoff scrambles to help fix the oversight before Beverly finds out; and to make matters worse, a weather advisory threatens a major storm is imminent which could jeopardize the entire event on the landmark 200th episode.

Graduation day is approaching and everyone, especially Adam, is ready - except for Beverly who is not coping well with the idea of an empty nest. Meanwhile, with Geoff's encouragement, Erica decides to try out for Cyndi Lauper as a one-time backup singer replacement. Ultimately, resurrecting her singing dreams doesn't manifest, but bigger and exciting new beginnings await her and the Goldbergs.

Barry decides to rush a fraternity; Beverly and Murray get closer to being empty nesters.

Beverly decides their street needs another stop sign and pleads her case to the city comptroller. Barry panics when he realizes he's neglected his college applications, but the situation only gets worse once Murray is involved. Meanwhile, Erica struggles with her career choice.

Inspired by his obsession, Adam helps Beverly plan a murder mystery party for the family. Meanwhile, Erica, tasked with declaring her major, bumps up against Barry's cockiness as she considers going the pre-med route.

Beverly creates a plan to save Formica Mike's (Richard Kind) failing marriage, but her efforts quickly backfire. Meanwhile, Barry enlists Adam and friends to create a James Bond-themed home movie in his ongoing efforts to court Joanne, but her response leaves him with a bruised ego. Both Barry and Beverly learn valuable lessons in love.

A big party is being thrown at Dave Kim's house and Pops has a plan to make Adam cool for the big event. Meanwhile, Beverly's cookbook has made her "famous," leading her to become out of control and fame-hungry, but eventually she learns an important lesson.

Murray and Geoff team up to pull Beverly, Barry and Erica out of their shared misery that Lainey has left town. Adam’s dread of gym class is amplified when Coach Mellor’s brother, Coach Nick, arrives and uses fear as a motivator. Meanwhile, Coach Mellor prepares for the next step of his life.

Beverly discovers Murray is actually a year younger than they knew so she plans a do-over at celebrating his 50th birthday, while Coach Mellor attempts to prepare non-athletic Adam for tryouts for pickleball.

In order to take her mind off of her heartbreak, Erica takes a trip to Los Angeles to see her best friend; after getting caught taking part in an underground poker game, Adam gets sentenced to Pop-Pop duty, which turns out better than expected.

After weeks of waiting, Adam finally receives news that he has been accepted into NYU. His excitement is soon diminished when he learns Brea has been accepted into her dream school, Brown University. Fearing the distance will affect their relationship, Adam attempts to find ways to keep his girlfriend close. Meanwhile, with Virginia's help, Beverly begins looking for venues to hold Erica's wedding shower. She discovers her nemesis' tennis club and is determined to become a member even if it means embarrassing herself.
