Marco learns that Eva is going to London for a weekend and would like to accompany her, so he tries to scrape together the necessary money and his uncle Cesare finds him a job as a liscio player with a small orchestra of over-sixty year olds in a club. Meanwhile, Ezio, because of a prank by Giulio and his brother, argues with Stefania and leaves home.

Rudi takes part in a psychological test and the result, to everyone's surprise, is that the boy is a genius. Giulio, enthusiastic, does everything to satisfy his son's needs and stimulate his intelligence. Alice, suspicious, discovers that the Leonardo da Vinci of Garbatella copied the answers. Lucia convinces Rudi to confess and the father's punishment is not long in coming. Marco seems increasingly strange and it is now clear to everyone that he is in love. However, no one suspects that the lucky girl is Eva. Meanwhile, Sergio shows up at the Cesaroni house and, on the verge of being named Cavaliere del Lavoro by the President of the Republic, he would like to take advantage of the opportunity to embarrass Giulio and win Lucia back.

To avoid foreclosure, Livia calls upon Aunt Teresa and organizes a fake wedding, with Stefania orchestrating. Marta and Olmo search for a common ground, a mixture of modesty and enthusiasm. Irene becomes increasingly fascinated by the older Cesaroni.

Giulio is finally about to leave for New York, but Lucia, due to an unexpected event, must join Eva in San Francisco. Once again, fate keeps them apart. Rudi urges Irene to forget about the kiss and realize that Mimmo is in love with her. Meanwhile, Francesco forces Alice to move her things from their house.

Their disastrous advice puts Adriano under pressure from his terrible partner Renato, but the arrival of Rovazzi will set things right! Walter supports Virginia in creating the new menu. Marco, discovering Marta's crush on Jonathan, creates a fake profile for him to talk to his daughter, unleashing the girl's ire. Father and daughter have just reconciled when Marta receives a call from Eva: she must return to New York immediately.

Marco, increasingly gloomy after returning from Milan, alarms Adriano. Mimmo is down: things aren't going well with Ines. Preparations for Adriano's party are going badly: the toy car arrived broken and the location has been cancelled. Giulio and Carlo take matters into their own hands. A financial police audit forces a painful choice between friendship and the winery. Walter approaches Virginia to apologize and confess his feelings; Marco goes to her to clarify, but finds them in the same room. Exhausted, Giulio considers selling and closing down.

Giulio and Livia, shocked by Carlo's refusal to work at the wine shop, become convinced that he's involved in shady dealings. Meanwhile, Walter tries to sabotage himself so as not to become Virginia's sous chef. Marta, increasingly obsessed with Jonathan, tries to make him jealous by showing herself and Olmo at the botanical garden, but obviously the plan fails. Despite themselves, the two young people are involved in a clandestine party, and Marco, called to intervene, is now truly angry with his daughter.

After yet another argument, Carlo leaves the restaurant; Giulio and Livia attempt to reconcile. Adriano, without filters, reveals truths that prompt Virginia to reflect. Marco and Marta leave for Milan to convince Eva to leave her in Rome; Olmo and Pedro plot long-distance support. Mimmo and Ines begin to open up, but an unexpected event calls into question.

Irene begins dating Alessio, the high school bully who spearheads the school occupation. Alice tries everything she can to mend her relationship with Francesco, who, to make her jealous, begins dating Arianna, the beautiful physical therapist. Nina tries everything she can to convince Francesco to step back and get back together with Alice.

The day before the transplant has arrived, and to exorcise her fear, Sofia decides to throw a party. All her friends flock there, except Giulio, who has decided to stay as far away from her as possible. Alice realizes Francesco's true feelings and decides not to marry him. Stefania finally gives in to Alfredo, and Annibale begins to grow closer to Luca.

The Cesaronis return to Garbatella, more relaxed than ever. Giulio runs the wine shop with Augusto, unaware of what's about to befall him. Marco is about to say his wedding vows to Virginia, with whom he has Adriano. Mimmo makes his debut as a special education teacher at school: Stefania is the principal, while Rudi works as a janitor in the hallways. Marta, Marco and Eva's daughter, arrives from America. Soon the balance will change.

Meanwhile, Sofia goes to a job interview in L'Aquila and discovers that her children aren't exactly what she expected.

Giulio Cesaroni and Lucia Cudicini, he a widower, she separated, meet again after twenty years in Rome. They realize they still love each other and decide to get married, so Lucia's daughters, Eva and Alice, arrive from Milan and move in with the Cesaronis. Getting to know Marco, Rudi and Mimmo, Giulio's sons, is not easy and things are also complicated by uncle Cesare, Giulio's brother, and his jealousy. Sergio wants Lucia to get back together with him, but after her ex refuses, the ruthless manager goes to Giulio's liquor store and threatens to take away his future wife, daughters and job. Giulio acts on impulse and doesn't hesitate to punch him, so Sergio, with the complicity of a doctor friend, makes the Cesaronis believe he is dying.

A new family arrives at the Cesaronis' home: Sofia with her three children, Nina, Irene, and Ivan. The woman is an old acquaintance, having lived in Garbatella twenty years earlier, and there's a secret between her and Giulio that threatens to upend the Cesaronis' lives.

About a year has passed in the lives of the Cesaroni family and their friends from Garbatella: Marco and Eva have just returned from the X Tour with little Marta, who is everyone's joy. Rudi, Alice, Budino, Jolanda, Lorenzo, and Regina return from vacation, struggling with adolescence. And Carlotta also rejoins Eva and Walter's lives.

After two weeks of heated discussions and arguments, the crisis between Giulio and Lucia hasn't subsided. The two have decided to separate. Giulio acts calm, but it's just a facade. He begins to have a crisis and decides to seek therapy from Emma, the sister of Olga, the wedding planner for Cesare's wedding. Things are also getting tough for Ezio: he argues with Walter, who wanted to repair a motorcycle at the shop.

Giulio, in the midst of therapy, is still suffering. Furthermore, he believes Ezio and Cesare are ignoring him, but they are only doing so for his own good. After going to Venice with her mother, Alice returns to start school again. At class, Rudi meets a new student: Miriam, Olga's daughter. Mimmo also meets Andy, the wedding planner's other son.

Marco and Eva, who have decided to stay at the Cesaroni house to help Giulio, are unable to sleep because of Marta's crying, as she's teething. Alice, on the other hand, has met a wonderful boy and would like to make love to him, but she's not ready yet. Walter, who had lent her the house, is relieved.

Giulio's moment of truth has arrived with Lucia. A new traffic cop is terrifying everyone in Garbatella: it's Germana. She's decided to return to her job after Barilon's shop goes into crisis. Ezio and Cesare decide to sabotage her, but something goes wrong. Ezio can't sell the shop, but Barilon has the right idea, and the two become partners.

After meeting Lucia, Giulio is officially separated and out of therapy. He decides to celebrate by going camping with Ezio and Cesare, but Barilon, feeling left out, plans to sabotage his outing. Gabriella, who blames Giulio for the end of her marriage to Lucia, never sets foot in the Cesaroni household again, but she misses everyone and pretends to be ill to have them around again.

Since Giulio has been single, he's always on edge. Ezio and Cesare realize he needs to get back on track. The three embark on a series of tragicomic attempts to meet women. When all seems lost, Giulio meets Gianna. Ezio and Cesare have a hand in it, but have they made the right choice?

Alice and Walter live their relationship in secret. Marco and Eva both work in radio and don't have much time for themselves anymore. Giulio and Olga have a connection, but Olga can't take it any further. Olga takes advantage of the situation to organize the launch of her sister Emma's book at the wine shop, but her ideas for renovating the place cause a clash between Giulio and Cesare.

Since he's been seeing Olga, Giulio has been constantly away from home, attending exhibitions and events she organizes. Stefania and Pamela urge their husbands to be less of a couch potato. Ezio and Cesare then infiltrate an exclusive party Olga is hosting at a golf club, resulting in a series of hilarious incidents and misunderstandings.

Giulio is furious with Walter and Alice and their secret affair. So are Ezio and Stefania. Marco and Eva, on the other hand, are disappointed: they expected more honesty from their best friend and sister. Furthermore, Walter, under the stress, breaks a key part of the motorcycle he was modifying.

The fire at the garage and motorcycle throws Walter into a panic. Walter is drawn dangerously into the world of horse racing. Luckily, this is the right time for Ezio to bury the hatchet and act like a father. Olga and her children have a problem at home and turn to Giulio for help.

Marco and Eva don't know who to trust with Marta: Alice is on a trip with Rudi and the others, Gabriella is away, and Giulio is always out with Olga. Ezio and Cesare step forward: however, the two decide to enter the girl in a competition at Cinecittà, encountering a series of comical complications that spiral into tragedy when they lose the child.

Marco and Eva, after the shock of Marta's disappearance, realize they've spent too much time at work and too little time with their family. They decide to treat themselves to a relaxing day at the beach. But Marco has a secret that's making him feel bad, and it will come out, upsetting his relationship with Eva. Walter and Carlotta also face a moment of truth: they love each other. She leaves her husband, and he leaves Alice, who, however, doesn't know about Carlotta.

Olga finally makes herself heard, but she has no intention of returning. She entrusts the children to Emma, with Giulio willing to keep them at his house. Furthermore, the two, aided by Ezio and Cesare, must cope with a birthday party Olga was supposed to organize, which will have unpredictable outcomes. Marco is devastated: Eva has gone with Marta to Venice to visit Lucia.

Marco gets a setback from his record company: his album isn't well received. He spirals into self-destruction. Alice is heartbroken over the end of her relationship with Walter. To cheer her up, Jolanda throws her a party, which, however, goes haywire.

No one is willing to play in the traditional match against the San Paolo neighborhood: neither Marco, who is increasingly depressed, nor Lorenzo, who is busy trying out for a professional team. Ezio, Giulio, and Cesare, convinced they'll win anyway, are forced to enlist some of the girls, including Regina, Jolanda, and Miriam.
