When they arrive at the castle Colonel Dumbarton next door fires off his sunset canon & lowers the Union Jack flag. Granny thinks he's startin'the war of the roses all over again.!

Mrs Drysdale runs over & tells the delivery man he's made a mistake & to take it next door. The Clampetts think 'Ecstasy' is a pile of junk & Granny says she could paint a picture that would win 1st prize in any art show. When Granny finished her painting, Bessie painted over it. Jed & Jethro went to the art gallery where they met A.Allen Allen. He thought they were gardeners come to work at his home, so he sent them to mow the lawns & trim the hedges. Later they returned & saw a painting like Bessie's in the gallery & bought a Rembrandt for the Mansion. Granny & Elly fixed up 'Ecstasy' with mud to make it look like a statue. When A.Allen Allen arrived he saw Bessie's painting & paid top dollar for it.

A chance meeting with the Clampetts gives him an idea about dealing with Mr. Drysdale. Leroy goes back to the bank, where Mr. Drysdale's computer has now died. Mr. Drysdale offers Leroy his job back, but Leroy informs Mr. Drysdale that he will be taking an extended vacation and staying with his new friends, the Clampetts.

At the mansion, the clan is in need of food, because the hunting in Beverly Hills is horrible. They call a catering company, but get mean-mouthed. At the bank, Drysdale gets a call and learns that he got a kangaroo from a friend and it is at his house. But the kangaroo gets out, and Granny sees it, thinking it is a giant jackrabbit. When she tells Jed, he thinks it is a vision from her jug. She never can seem to catch the creature, and whenever she tells someone, they don't believe her. She finally does, and when Beverly Caterers comes, Granny tells her to cook it, but it escapes from her rope, and runs back to the Drysdale place.

Jane Hathaway finds that making the Clampetts more sophisticated will be harder than expected, while Pearl Bodine tries to get the attention of Mr. Brewster.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Drysdale is convinced she's imagining things, because she sees Granny hovering outside her window and sees a goat and a chicken in her bathroom.

There is a bit of a shock when she comes by to pick up Jethro and realizes who will be her new fifth grader.

Mr. Drysdale says he will get Sonny to propose, but Elly says she doesn't want to marry him. Lyle Talbot and Ken Drake appear as a psychiatrists interviewing Jed in jail.

Jed comes up with a plan for her to save face by having Mr. Brewster propose in public and then have her turn him down. Jed didn't count on Mr. Brewster's background in the theater and him making a huge production out of it. Mr. Brewster does such a convincing job that Pearl, after repeatedly saying no, then says yes.

Hacker sees Granny cleaning Jed's office and, assuming she is the cleaning lady, picks her. The only thing is, Granny is just as good a shot as Jed.

Dr. Twombly gets nowhere with Jethro, so Pearl comes and she thinks he is testing her virtue when he tries to lay her on his couch.

All the while a new teller sucks-up to the men and flirts with the women. Jed lends money to a Mr. Wilson, who claims to be a poor chicken rancher. Because of that, Mr. Drysdale is named "Banker of the Year".
