After the dust of the battle settled, Laura is recording for her journalism project one last time to talk about the aftermath, including the return of her formerly lost roommate Betty, strange tremors that occur from time to time on the campus, the fortunate discovery of JP's backup - until Perry storms into her room to announce a surprising visitor ...

So it turns out the (not) Upside Down also features some ... interesting figures from Laura's past.

Reunited, Carmilla and Laura confront the grim truth: one of their own is no longer with them, and time is running out. Our heroes need a plan in like, the worst way.

Carmilla deals with the consequences of Laura's choice. What was taken is restored, what was bargained, granted. A journey, ending. I'm not crying you are.

The Dean suffers a setback. Laura makes the most of an opportunity and Carmilla can do nothing but watch.

Stuck in a faerie circle, the Dean plays her hand, and her emotional manipulation, and her very clever application of many, many hurtful words. Our heroes are in for a rough night ...

Mattie returns from ... wherever it was The Dean sent her (probably Siberia) with a new, grand plan that totally won't end badly for our heroes ... hint hint wink wink nudge nudge.

Mel returns in all her extremely annoyed glory, because really, they should have staged a rescue sooner.

When her plans go decidedly south, Laura is forced to act. And it gets messy ...

After Jp 3.0's stunning revelation, Laura is back to thinking The Library is out to get her ... or at least morally compromise her ... so that's fun. Meanwhile, LaFontaine tries to avoid getting bitten by Carmilla.

Checking in with Mel turns into a slightly messier endeavor than initially hoped for.

Ooops - so after THAT particular indiscretion, our heroes get to work on Plan B, since Plan A is rife with emotional baggage that probably should be unpacked, just not at this particular moment. Demon Summoning 101, anyone?

So remember when Laura said that all of the talismans had a deep connection to whatever carries the most personal baggage for her? Yikes at this last one. YIKES.

Mel and Kirsch have differing opinions on how awesome LaFontaine is.

Carmilla, stunned by Laura's disappearance, has to figure out how to get her back and stop The Dean. Laura, meanwhile, has found herself in a strange version of The Library ...

Apparently an avid viewer of Laura in the Loop and SNN from all the way at Princeton, Betty does her best Elle Woods and sends the crew abseiling into the pit to collect the next talisman.

Laura and her gang just returned to Silas University - turns out fleeing the scene of an epic battle isn't as easy as it sounds. After Carmilla scored them some swish new digs, and LaFontaine being a bit annoying, the time has come for the two love-birds to enjoy the sweetness of young tender romance - until Perry shows up completely freaked out.

Mattie dies in her sister's arms. Full of rage, Carmilla is eager to take immediate, cruel revenge, when Laura steps between them, revealing that she told Danny about how to kill a mocking vampire threat. Angry and furious about the murder and Laura's betrayal of confidence, she tells everyone to keep distance from her - and leaves.

The attack on Mattie results in an uproar: Mattie knocks out Perry, Laura manages to save her from being killed, which results in Laura almost being strangled by the angry vampire. Later at night, Carmilla tells Laura in confidence about Mattie's only weakness in case she has to defend herself and her ex-lover isn't around.

Laura's kind of emotional meltdown is stopped when she realizes that they could use LaFontaine's urge to join the party - a.k.a. the ritual - by letting her go and following her into the decisive battle. Gathering the troops, she hopes that Carmilla will fight on her side - with unpredictable outcome for all of them.

In which our heroes realize how epically screwed they are. Mel wants a rescue, and our heroes have to come up with a plan to save everyone.

Perry is devastated and blames herself for LaFontaine taken hostage by some evil vampire minions. Carmilla reassures Laura that nothing that happened is her fault - and they figure out that they have to warn Kirsch about his bro Will being a vampire. After he left, the roomies take some time for a crushing waltz á la mode of 1698.

Laura has to deal with a worried father and an increasingly complicated puzzle, only to discover it was wrecked from the beginning.

Baron von Vordenberg literally holding a sword over her beloved ex-roomy's slash ex-girlfriend's shiny vampire neck, Laura has a choice she's never had to make before in her life: betray herself and all that she wants to stand up for in her life, or save Carmilla from ultimate death and free all her friends from the evil reign of the Lügenbaron.

The night of the party, Laura is hopeful that their plan will work and that they can capture Carmilla in the crowd - until she suddenly shows up with a bottle of expensive champagne to celebrate with her bait in private in their room. The tension between them is rising - but they won't be alone for long.

Carmilla tells Laura her story of becoming and "living" as a vampire, with Laura suddenly deciding to pep it up by playing along with sock puppets. Which, at first, works delightfully when it's all about adventures centuries ago. Alas, it ends sadly when Carmilla's real love was struck by tragedy, and she began to disobey her "mother", who Laura already met.

Laura tries to get an extension on her term paper by asking Danny - but that doesn't end very well. Meanwhile, Carmilla and J-P find out that they have to secure the Blade of Hastur, a weapon that's powerful enough to destroy the evil on the campus once and for all. However, the evil is right onto them, or, more precisely, right into Laura.

In which some much needed scientific evidence of the "Two Idiots in Love" phenomena is observed. Our heroes have houseguests.

As the siege gets worse and Baron von Vordenberg gets closer, Laura tries one last time to ask for help and break through to Carmilla via her online network. Her ex-roomy slash ex-girlfriend contacts her - only to decline being the hero once more. Laura has to accept it, and leaves to help Danny and the others - only to miss Carmilla's second last call.

Growing weary of the research frenzy following the discovery that Perry is now, apparently, possessed by The Dean, Laura turns to DIY library improvements and Carmilla stages an intervention.

After Laura and Danny were able to bring back a severely injured Kirsch to the apartment, Danny steps out again and seems to be victorious. Alas, one of Kirsch's Zeta bros, Theo, stabs her in the back, leaving her die in Laura's arms. The fight is over - and Baron von Vordenberg announces his victory and the impending execution of Carmilla Karnstein.

After their fruitless search, Kirsch and Danny have a heart to heart about their romance slash friendship. Accidentally, he reveals that the Zetas are helping Baron von Vordenberg to kill the giant anglerfish god in the crater. Before they try to sabotage their efforts, Laura and Carmilla share a moment alone, revealing that love doesn't concer all.

Perry & Mel review the evidence so far and try to figure out why the girls on campus stopped having their periods, while Carmilla "enacts violence" on the poor Zeta bro below.

In her best Harry Potter impression, Perry attempts a spell to find the magical culprit behind the "Redwing Migration", in order to reveal supernatural beings and find out what exactly happened at the swim team party.

Carmilla interrogates all suspects once again, while Perry is convinced that the strange happenings on the campus are magic-related. Mel has a really hard time believing in the existence of the supernatural.

Discussing whether the Zetas may be responsible for the girls not having their periods, Carmilla, Perry and Mel agree that they make a convincing scapegoat - mythology connections and all. Also, turns out that even Carmilla is stuck in the chamber - what does this mean?

Mel reveals why she went to the swim team party, while Carmilla finds out that the "Redwing Migration" is connected to a larger mystical force than the regular players on campus. If even The Dean is worried, than that spell means trouble.

Backed into a corner, Mel lets it slip that she may have had ulterior motives to go to the party in regards to literally "meat up" the Zetas, so to speak - which also means the suspicions revert back to her. Meanwhile, Kirsch sprouts an unfortunate pair of donkey ears - weird.

Going over their findings again and hitting a magical book, the strange bedfellows may have found their culprit: the bloodthirsty, capricious, probably megalomaniacal Fairy Queen Tythia.

Perry faces a choice: Rule the universe with Tythia to the detriment of everyone else, or trap her back into the statue. After witnessing the truly horrendous hidden face of the universe, Perry clamps down on the weird and tells Carmilla None Of This Ever Happened. And so, we've found out "how Perry became such a pressed lemon ..."

Laura Hollis, new college student at Silas University in picturesque Styria, Austria, is working on a journalism project documenting the weirdness of her new school. Convinced by her roommate Betty Spielsdorf to go to a party, she takes one night off - only to find a slimy note near her bed the next morning that says Betty is no longer attending the school.

Trapped in the Library of Silas University, Laura and Carmilla find some old VHS tapes that contain footage from 2012, the year in which freshmen Perry and Mel have been forcefully locked into an interrogation room, awaiting a certain Inquisitor. Oh, and their periods have been missing for 3 months.

Laura meets up with her floor don Lola Perry and Perry's friend S. LaFontaine to discuss the freaky blood that poured out of Carmilla's milk container. Ultimately, she wants to get rid of her - and Perry tries to assure her that Betty will probably return soon, like all the other girls that went missing before.

Getting into a heavy argument with Carmilla about how rude she was to the two girls and about her efforts to shed light onto Betty's disappearance in general, Laura makes a bold decision and puts her whole research online. Next thing you know, a loud alarm goes off.

Irritated by Natalie's and Sarah-Jane's weird change in behavior, Laura facebook-stalks Betty and discovers that her missing roommate wasn't the real Betty, so to speak. Even more shocking - Carmilla makes her a cup of Laura's (!) cocoa and wanders off, missing a special guest who asks for Miss Karnstein.

As it turns out after 3 days, Betty is nowhere to be found on campus, and the girl who burst into Laura's room and introduced herself as Carmilla is in fact her new roommate - from hell. Seeking some kind of little revenge, Laura decides to get back at her and pours Carmilla's soy milk on her breakfast cereals - she really shouldn't have done that.

Since nobody saw anything at the party or even seems to care that Betty is missing, and after endless calls with officials from Silas University to investigate her disappearance, Laura decides to take matters in her own hands and searches for her roommate by herself. Until - another roommate shows up.

Laura is eager to interview the two girls that went missing before and then re-appeared and asks Perry to arrange a meeting. Enter Carmilla, who explains that the blood was a prank - sure! Enter Sarah-Jane and Natalie, who report that they can't remember anything about the time they went missing except for some creepy dreams beforehand.

The sudden disappearance of the library causes J-P to malfunction due to having power issues, while the Summers and the Zetas start to protest against the Chair of the Board interfering in their activities. Mattie makes clear that she won't have any discussion about it - loud and clear.

After Mattie explained that the Board has to make big cuts, Laura and the gang find out that they also intent to sell off the demonic anglerfish Lophiiformes, the demigod that was woken up during the battle and that is now stuck in the huge crater, almost ready and loose to destroy the whole world. Out of options: What if Carmilla spies on her "sister"?

The "Scoobies" are still trying to figure out how to lure Carmilla into a trap with Laura as the bait, when Kirsch, Will, Sarah-Jane and Natalie show up to invite her to a party. Recruiting their help for her plan, Laura goes to bed and wakes up from another bad dream, only to find Carmilla in a very nostalgic mood. Laura takes the opportunity to invite her to the party.

Reeling from Mattie's death, Carmilla's furious departure, Perry's sudden return to the apartment without any memory of what happened to her, and Baron von Vordenberg's goons closing in on them after they killed the anglerfish god, Laura and the gang barricade their quarters and hope for the best.

To find a way to stop Mattie, J-P informs the gang that she could be removed if she's challenged by another Board member in conflict. Laura comes up with the idea to try to get Baron von Vordenberg ready for verbal debate, but victory looks unlikely. Until Perry shows up - this time, unshaken.

From inside the apartment, Laura witnesses Carmilla's attempt to get to the crater and drink the demigod's blood. When LaFontaine points out that pining over her lost lover won't help them, Laura comes to her senses and puts together another SNN broadcast to warn the students. But how to get rid of the evil Lügenbaron?

A panicking Laura tries to talk herself down after being bitten by Carmilla, just seconds after Will ran off, just seconds after Carmilla punched him in the face, and just seconds after she learned that he was also a vampire. When Carmilla comes back from following Will, she is about to run from her "mother", The Dean. Can Laura convince her to stay?

Laura is very happy about her many new online followers and teams up with Danny to find similarities between the four girls and the circumstances of them gone missing and re-appearing - all while Carmilla is being snarky. Is the alchemy club behind all this? Let's ask Natalie again.

Charming safety escorts Wilson Kirsch and Will Luce, two members of the Zeta Omega Mu fraternity, came to Laura's rescue and protection. While they - kind of - overstayed their welcome, entering Carmilla isn't amused to meet them in her room and bites them out, literally.

When the Zetas and the Summers have difficulties to agree on a truce, Kirsch suggests that Danny and himself could voluntarily represent both faculties during the time of the investigation into the murder of the newspaper staff. After they leave, Laura and Carmilla have some needed privacy to "talk" - until Perry enters, shaken up by something horrible, again.

In the very early morning, Laura and Carmilla are woken up by Perry who devoured her time to cleaning and making brownies to calm herself down about LaFontaine's disappearance. When they hit the Sumerien book, and accidentally spill some blood on it, they discover a hidden scripture about the demonic hungry light, Lophiiformes. Enter LaFontaine!

While classes have resumed, Laura and the gang have difficulties to adjust to the dangerous living conditions under the new rules of Baron von Vordenberg. Danny comes by and reveals to Laura that she's an outcast of the Summer Society since stopping the Adonis hunt - she has nowhere to go. Enter LaFontaine, with terrible news, again.

Drum roll: Introducing, Matska Belmonde, the Chair of the Board, also the "daughter" of The Dean who comes for sweet revenge, also called Mattie, especially by Carmilla, who can save Laura from the deadly fangs of her older "sister" - at least for now. Not save at all: Laura's broadcasts on SNN, which will be joined by Mattie, to balance out their pro-human bias.

LaFontaine calms Perry down by explaining that they managed to transfer J-P into Will's body, the evil vampire bro that was stacked by Perry during the battle. In the meantime, Baron von Vordenberg expresses some reluctance to help Laura in the investigation, on account of her association with Carmilla.

Struggling to help Carmilla and to find a middle ground in their relationship, Laura makes a deal with Mattie to hide her and her "sister" in their apartment in exchange to their promise that whey will stop their predatory spree on campus. They agree, but Baron von Vordenberg's troops are already on their way.

Despite that he promised to Danny that he will leave it alone, Baron von Vordenberg reveals his ambition to kill the anglerfish god. Which leads Mattie to attack him, only held back by Danny, resulting in a fight between them, when Danny ultimately snatches the locket around her neck and stomps on it - her only weakness.

After Danny is barely able to pull hungry vampire J-P off of LaFontaine's neck, Laura continues to interrogate Mattie about the possible evil plan that Baron von Vordenberg might have. Mattie doesn't seem to know, but she remembers some ominous weapon that would help them to get rid of him. Later that day, Laura tells Danny a secret.
