Pat learns that one of Nashville's celebrities, former Tennessee Titan quarterback and public hero Steve McNair, has been found dead in his condo. The body of a young female was also present in an apparent double homicide. With a high-profile case on its hands there is only one detective the Chief of Police wants on the case, and that is Det. Pat Postiglione.

The crime scene of a double murder shows evidence of conflicting motives. But an unlikely clue on the living room floor helps Detective Postiglione zero in on what really happened, leading to the arrest of an unassuming killer.

In 2004, Detective Postiglione investigates the rare double homicide of two young college students in an apartment near a Nashville university; when a third victim is gunned down, Postiglione launches a state-wide manhunt to catch a ruthless killer.
