While he was supposed to be at the hospital, Alain surprises Dayan by ringing his doorbell at the usual time. He has decided to cut his stay at Saint-Anne short: he doubts the competence of the doctors and believes he is well enough to stop therapy completely. The businessman nevertheless recognizes the astonishing powers of listening… Through his questions, the psychoanalyst invites him to embrace a part of himself that has been repressed for too long.

Dayan goes to court. It is the day of the hearing in the Chibane case, which has been pursuing the analyst for five years. He answers questions from the presiding judge, then from the ruthless lawyer for the civil parties. But refuses, in the name of medical confidentiality, to discuss the content of the last session with his late patient. An unexpected witness appears at the bar…

Lydia still hasn't told her family about her illness. She's visibly exhausted, but she's getting ready to go to her parents' house to take care of her autistic little brother.

After contacting Dayan herself, Anouk, Alain's daughter, accompanies him for an emergency session. Seriously concerned about her father's condition, who is increasingly agitated and confused, the young woman has had to postpone her return to Greece to stay by his side. In full denial, Alain will lose his footing before the eyes of his daughter and his shrink. The latter then recommends a radical measure.

Adel immediately announces that he has broken up with Ariane, convinced that she is being manipulated by Dayan. In a fit of anger, he also reveals to the analyst everything he has discovered about him: his daughter, his father in a nursing home, his wife who is cheating on him... Dayan manages to calm him down and tries to help him remember Algeria.

The verdict in the trial against Dayan has been delivered: an acquittal that puts an end to four painful years of proceedings. In front of Claire, the psychoanalyst evokes a need to turn the page. Crossed by serious doubts about the usefulness of his practice, he considers stopping his consultations. While she questions her eternal need to act as a savior, Dayan takes back the reins of the exchange and brings his colleague to confide in her turn.

Camille is on edge. She wants Dayan to write his report as soon as possible. Dayan makes her talk about her divorced parents, and her swimming coach with whom she has a special relationship.

Faced with the major changes awaiting his young patient, the psychoanalyst finds an original way to begin the transition.

A final-year architecture student, Lydia, aged twenty-two, talks about a bad experience with a previous therapist. Dayan guides his patient to try to understand this failure. At the end of the session, Lydia reveals the real reason for her visit: devastating news about her health. She hasn't told anyone and refuses to seek treatment...

Adel, finally back, finally finds the courage to tell the traumatic event he experienced in Algeria when he was a child. As he makes considerable progress in his therapy, he is about to make a decision whose self-destructive nature is clear to Dayan, who tries to warn him.

Dayan goes to Ariane. He confesses his feelings to her again, feels ready to live a story with her. Later, at Esther's, devastated, he tells what happened between him and his patient.

Imagining Dayan's income, Adel is outraged by the modesty of his own salary, which he considers derisory in view of the risks of his job. After a very violent training session, his anxieties reappeared during his evening with Ariane. Dayan thinks that Ariane is only a distraction for Adel, who takes him away from the real problem. He is determined to understand what the photo found at his father's house crystallizes in him.

Philippe Dayan has a meeting with Inès, a brilliant lawyer in her forties, who is investigating a case of non-assistance to a person in danger involving the psychoanalyst. She unceremoniously prepares the latter for the ordeal of the appearance that awaits him, not without having taken care to remind him that she was briefly his patient around twenty years earlier. Dayan then discovers with astonishment the reasons which push the young woman to wish to come and consult him again…

The psychoanalyst welcomes Robin, son of Léonora and Damien (Clémence Poésy and Pio Marmaï), former patients he received as part of couples therapy. Aged eleven, the boy seems unaware of what brings him to the couch, and dreams of an "invisibility cloak". He refuses to spend time at his father's house for fear of Covid. Dayan ingeniously works to uncover the unspoken family secrets that weigh on his young patient, whose liveliness and sensitivity he discovers.

Camille's father is waiting for her outside Dayan's office. Cold, she pushes him away but he finally insists on attending the session, where he tries to prove that he is a good father. Camille expresses her anger at feeling abandoned.

Lydia is relieved. She has completed her first chemotherapy and is ready to continue treatment. An opportunity for Dayan to make his patient realize how difficult it is for her to ask anyone for help. He suggests that she get someone to accompany her during her next hospital stay.

Camille, 16, is a young high-level swimmer who is training for the Olympic Games. She comes to Dayan's office following a bicycle accident, both arms in plaster. Her insurance requires a psychological assessment attesting that she is in no way responsible for what happened to her.

Arriving alone, Damien explains to Dayan that they have decided with Léonora to separate and to end their therapy. Léonora, who joins them, emphasizes that she considers it a failure. Dayan tries to calm the situation.

The conversation is interrupted by Mohammed Chibane, Adel's father, who comes to try to understand what pushed his son to seek help. The conversation takes an accusatory turn...

Leonora thanks Dayan for Robin's dazzling behavioral progress. A change too rapid not to be seriously questioned by the analyst.

Following a death that upsets him, Dayan goes to the funeral. There he finds Ariane and confides in her his feelings of guilt. There he meets the deceased's relatives, including his father, who, in his dismay, mistakes Ariane for Dayan's partner.

With an unusually cheerful air, Adel tells Dayan about his meeting with Ariane and takes the opportunity to ask him what he thinks of her. Inviting him to make the connection between his dysfunctional relationship and that of his parents, Dayan brings him back to his own torments. Troubled, the policeman tells him about a photo found at his father's house.

Camille seems worried that this third session will put an end to her meetings with Dayan. She mentions her parents' divorce and then makes important revelations about her relationship with Nicolas, her coach. Dayan still refuses to comment on whether or not his accident was premeditated, which annoys the young girl.

Dayan and his wife arrive together at Esther's. He tries to explain why he can't forgive Charlotte for his infidelity, but Esther calls him to order: he too has desire for another woman. Charlotte, jealous and exhausted by her husband's endless analyses, cuts the session short.

Ariane arrives late because of a cat story, an excuse that Dayan doubts: is it to hide her resentment for having been rejected during the last session? On leaving their appointment, Ariane has a surprising encounter...

Dayan is grumpy, he has rather intimate medical problems. In bad faith, he accuses Esther of having given him bad advice in the management of Ariane's transfer. The latter points out to him that he was not obliged to follow her recommendations. Ariane may have awakened an old wound in him, which would go beyond the simple issue of desire and adultery.

Léonora shows up alone at the session. Dayan doesn't want to welcome her without her husband, but he still listens to her confide in her miscarriage. Damien, furious, finally arrives and violently takes Léonora to task. Shortly after, Charlotte, Dayan's wife, makes him an announcement that he doesn't like...

Leonora reproaches Damien for leaving their son Robin alone at home, but they find their complicity again and remember their meeting. Until Damien accuses Leonora of cheating on him. Then begins a new, violent argument, which marks a decisive turning point in their therapy.

With the architectural model she spent the night on in her arms, Lydia arrives exhausted at Dayan's. The session is tense. Lydia summons a childhood trauma by the sea, which Dayan seizes upon to make his patient observe her obsession with control. He urges her to announce her illness to her parents...

Since she officially started living with her boyfriend, Inès feels oppressed. Dayan invites her to revisit her family history.

A week after confiding in his parents thanks to Dayan, Robin announces to his therapist's surprise that he has filed a complaint against his harassers. However, this only provides him with short-lived relief, as a new conflict has broken out between his father and mother, putting the young boy in front of an impossible choice.

Upon arrival at the session, Lydia accuses Dayan of treason: following a serious illness that sent her to the emergency room, the psychoanalyst felt the need to warn her mother. Over the course of their discussions, Lydia comes to recognize the importance of her parents' support; while Dayan emphasizes the recurring pattern that his patient seems to have displayed in her relationships with others since childhood: a difficulty in asking for help.
