In the second field challenge of the season, the home cooks will take a surprise trip to Las Vegas, where they will be split into two teams to take over Drai's Nightclub and feed 101 Las Vegas performers. The team who receives the most winning votes from the Las Vegas performer diners will be safe from the next pressure test, while the losing team will be dealt with a deuce steak contest at Gordon Ramsay's Steak. In the pressure test, the home cooks will face two steak challenges testing temperature and taste, and one contestant will be sent home.

The contestants are introduced to special culinary guest judge Edward Lee, chef and owner of 610 Magnolia in Louisville, KY.

The remaining 17 home cooks are greeted by Chefs Ramsay and Tosi, as well as Season 6 winner Claudia Sandoval and guest culinary judge Aarón Sánchez.

The remaining four semi-finalists are challenged to a "3 Chef Showdown" - a brand-new culinary triathlon that sees the home cooks making three dishes back-to-back - alongside three different Legendary chefs. This is a window into the fast-paced world of a professional chef, with each round's prize being a guaranteed spot in the finale.

The home cooks endure an intense grilling.

The top 10 contestants test their speed in a special team challenge at the Irwindale Speedway, where they have 75 minutes to cook for 101 race car crew members.

The Top 10 cooks have one hour to make breakfast using a chocolate-hazelnut spread, and the winner gets to choose the dish for the next elimination challenge.

The top 13 must break down Alaskan king crabs; the contestants cook for chef Masaharu Morimoto.

Judges Gordon Ramsay, Aarón Sánchez and Joe Bastianich each will have eight aprons to hand out to the home cooks whom they deem worthy – and they then will mentor those contestants throughout the competition.

The chefs work in teams to create a dish using a mystery box filled with different food items from their generation.
