Abby is back from LA. Maddie receives a tap solo called "Me And You Against The World." Chloe gets a hip hop solo entitled "Beautiful", and Kenzie gets a solo called "California Adventure." The group dance is titled "Gone Too Soon." It's about Hollywood deaths. Maddie is Princess Diana, Chloe is Marilyn Monroe, Brooke is Amy Winehouse, Paige is Anna Nicole Smith, Nia is Whitney Houston, and Kendall is Selena. Mackenzie is told by Abby that she cannot participate in recess, because she was so tired out at solo rehearsal.

For the first time ever, Maddie and Mackenzie sit down with Abby and give an exclusive take on their Dance Moms journey before they say their final farewell.

When Abby assigns Chloe and Kendall to be Maddie's understudies for the week, it prompts an idea from Holly to use a board to keep score of all the times Abby favors Maddie over the other children. As the number of tally marks increases, so does the tension between the moms and Abby. Meanwhile, Cathy and her Candy Apples are looking for their very first win against the ALDC this season and they've brought back Gino to help them get it.

The Dance moms think Abby has pushed the envelope too far when she creates a dance number where the girls are made to appear nude. Cathy offers Chloe a chance to be in a commercial for her husband's beef jerky business. This episode also known as "Costume Drama" and "Fanning the Flames" and was pulled by Lifetime due to controversy.

Abby indefinitely suspends Christi and Chloe, which keeps Chloe from competing against Cathy's new all-boy team "The Apple Cores." Nia and Holly must deal with a painful medical condition from their past. In the meantime, Abby's favorite new dancer Sophia returns.

Abby's dancers compete against Cathy's Candy Apples but Cathy sets a trap for the moms by inviting them to an anonymous cocktail party.

The team hits the Big Apple not only for a competition, but also for a very special surprise. Abby has been invited to co-host "The View" where the girls will perform their winning dance "The Last Text," however, Abby wrestles with the decision to replace injured Mackenzie with newcomer Asia. Of course, Cathy and her Candy Apples are also in the city, where they are holding open auditions to add another member to their winning team.

After Melissa's fall from grace, Jill tries hard to be Abby's new favorite but quickly learns that's no easy task, especially since Abby's mood is at an ultimate low after she hears that Cathy is back to compete after weeks of hiding.

Tensions are high when Abby swaps Chloe and Christi for the Select Team's Jade and Loree in the third head-to-head battle between the Elite and Select teams in Washington, D.C. Both teams are anxious to impress Abby when she announces that Nationals are just five weeks away. Jeanette and Ava are thrilled to compete in a solo against Maddie until it becomes obvious that the odds are stacked against them.

Abby decides to have Maddie and Chloe dance the exact same solo shocking the moms to see who really is the best dancer at the Abby Lee Dance Company. Chloe ends up winning first, and Maddie ends up taking second. Abby Is upset with Maddie losing, she go to the competion director and tells them the counted it wrong, the director comes in an gives Maddie first and Chloe second. Abby then lies saying the director pointed the mistake out but when the director comes back in the room and thanks abby for pointing out the mistakes the moms look horrified. Asia and Mackenzie go head to head as well, but Asia comes in first, while Macknenzie places second. After last week's big fight Christi and Kelly find that their friendship will never be the same again. Abby notices this and makes the two go down stares and die the pink ribbon together alone. Meanwhile, the theme of the group dance causes Abby to have painful memories to Abby and the moms.

The Abby Lee Dance Company heads to New Jersey with a group number all about love. Before they leave for the competition, the moms take Abby speed dating in the hopes that if she found a man, she would be nicer to the girls. Jill's competitive side rears its ugly head when she tries to get Kendall private lessons so she can outshine Nia in their duet.

Abby receives the remains of her beloved dog, Broadway Baby; Kelly secretly meets with the mothers; Maddie's star continues to fall, while Nia's is on the rise.

With the Select Team gone for the week, the Elite Team needs to end their losing streak. This will prove difficult because they are competing against the Candy Apples on their home turf and Cathy will do whatever it takes to ensure a win. Inspired from her time as a judge on Dancing with the Stars, Abby recruits former Candy Apple Gino to dance a duet with Maddie where the choreography calls for her very first kiss.

The moms push Abby for more dance classes after losing two competitions in a row. When Abby refuses to take responsibility for the girls' lack of training, Kira takes matters into her own hands and brings in outside help, which infuriates Abby. Meanwhile, Abby pressures Maddie to regain her standing as ALDC's top dancer.

Abby attempts to unify the two teams by assigning the elites and minis as duet partners; the elites are forced to choreograph their own group dance as Abby continues to favor the minis.

Maddie has returned from shooting her movie and is back on the team for good, but to everyone's surprise, Abby doesn't seem happy to see her #1 dancer. The moms question if Abby is jealous of Maddie's fame and Ashlee uses this to her advantage in hopes that Abby will spend more time grooming Brynn to be the next big star.

Abby brings in a new dancer with an eccentric mother; Abby encourages Brynn to lead Kalani and Kendall in their trio; the mothers are nervous when Abby assigns the first hip-hop routine since the elites walked out.

After competing all season, it all boils down to the National Title Competition. Abby's dancers have been on a losing streak and this is their last chance to prove they can win. Meanwhile, Melissa leaves the competition early to go on vacation. Her ex-husband, Kurt, steps in as a "Dance Dad", sending Melissa into a panic.

The real moms are back and the replacements are out, with the exception of one, Sophia Lucia.

The team returns to Pittsburgh to tie up loose ends before they move to Los Angeles; Abby schedules the team to attend a competition and a convention; Holly organizes a premiere party for Nia's music video.

The Abby Lee Dance Company is on the edge after learning that a big Broadway casting director will attend their annual showcase, an exhibition in which she shows off her accomplished dancers. Abby's desire to push the girls to the max could have catastrophic effects if they don't do their best.

Abby announces her first national open audition in Orlando; Jill accuses Christi of lying to help Chloe win; Brooke, Paige and Chloe are given a tricky trio to challenge Brooke's pop star credentials.

Holly worries about Nia's featured role in the group dance; Abby's second open call audition has the mothers on edge; Melissa defends her choice to home school Maddie and MacKenzie.

Paige is allowed to dance again after her foot is healed. New girl Nicaya and her mother join the team, creating competition between her and Paige for a position in the group number. Meanwhile, Nia and Chloe's solos place very poorly, although the group dance places first.
