Realizing that he's been duped, Mark goes all out to thwart the murderer's plans. Amanda and Jack go after Wallace Sterling, the crooked financier and art lover by selling a forged painting of a can of Cream of Celery soup.

Financier Robin westlin dies in Dr. Sloan's house, but when the paramedics at the scene, the body's gone. Everyone is certain the event was a figment of Mark's imagination. Dr. Sloan goes on a quest to validate his theory.

A plastic surgeon dies due to an overdose of laughing gas... with no shortage of suspects. Mark campaigns furiously to exonerate Bonnie Valin, the victim's wife, while Steve makes a solid case against her. Meanwhile, Amanda's new electronic checking service is less than effective.

A convict, being treated at County General, manages to take a hostage and demand news coverage. When the newscaster covering the event is shot down, Dr. Sloan takes it upon himself to figure out what went wrong.

When Amanda's friend Angela is kidnapped immediately after giving birth to quadruplets, Amanda feigns pregnancy and goes undercover at an adoption agency to locate Angela. Jack and Dr. Sloan try to care for the babies.

Dr. Sloan is the executor of his friend, Preston Michael's, estate after Michaels is found in the body of a shark. Things turn interesting after traces of poison are found in Michaels' body and three women, all apparently married to Michaels, attend the reading of the will.

A tell-all book written by one of Amanda's vindictive old college roommates contains embarrassing secrets of all four roommates. Dr. Sloan tries to discover what happened when the author is found dead and Amanda is the main suspect.

A Los Angeles earthquake apparently causes an armoire to topple over on top of a good friend of Dr. Sloan's, Martin Garfield, killing him. The dry-eyed Sloan goes to work and discovers that Garfield may have been killed before the earthquake. Jack and Amanda help Mark weed through the wealthy family to find the murderer.

Dr. Sloan investigates the murder of an antagonistic pro volleyball player. Steve searches for an alleged stalker while Amanda and Jack keep an eye on her teammates, none of whom are particularly upset over her death.

A cantankerous patient at Community General is given a double injection of his medication, eventually leading to his death. Jack suspects a doctor he's had a grudge against for a long time. Despite Mark's objections, Jack sets out to prove his ""enemy"" is the killer.

Security is increased at the hospital when Senator Robert Bassett undergoes an operation. Drs. Sloan and Stewart are preoccupied when a beautiful young amnesia patient is brought in. Unbeknownst to them, their beautiful young patient is a professional killer.

An exhausted Jesse, coming off a 48-hour stint in the hospital, witnesses a man die in the parking garage. Jesse returns with help only to find the man alive. While everyone believes Jesse to have been delirious, Jesse insists he was correct, and goes all out to prove himself.

The newly crowned boxing champion is found murdered shortly after the bout. Jack and Amanda investigate the deceased's former trainer, his opponent, and his opponent's manager to find a way through a web of lies and deceit.

Chet Brooks, one of Jack's old friends, shows up on the run from gamblers, begging for help. Jack reluctantly loans Chet his car, only to have Chet and the car explode in a fiery wreck. Jack tangles with the underworld to find out what happened.

Meanwhile, Madison Wesley is stalked by a homicidal killer who's recently undergone plastic surgery.

Newly retired detective Harry Trumble returns to the force when it appears 'The Clown Killer', a murderer Trumble chased for more than a decade, has emerged from obscurity to kill again. Mark is reluctant to help Harry investigate the Clown, in part due to a rift between the two, but also because Mark suspects Harry has something to do with the Clown's reappearance.

An abusive man who, along with four other people, was a contestant on a reality show is murdered while living in a house that is monitored 24 hours a day. After the killing, Mark enters the house as the man's replacement to see if he can uncover what happened.

Steve enlists troubled teenager (he sure looked older than a teenager) Tommy to work as community service at a boxing club after too many brushes with the law. Tommy tries to control his temper. Mark finds that the club's sports drink is drugged, promoting aggressive tendencies in many of the boxers.

Shadowy figures haunt Jesse after he returns after being missing five days and believes aliens may have abducted him. Mark and Steve try to figure out what happened to him, while Jesse tries to stave off hallucinations, clandestine midnight meetings, and secretive government agents.

Jesse's car breaks down while he and Susan are on their way to a fun-filled vacation in Carmel. The two are stranded in a small town where Susan spies a supposedly long dead beau, Greg. They eventually discover that he faked his death in order to plunder a shipwrecked vessel undetected. The townsfolk, all in on the scheme, murder Greg and pin the blame on Jesse and Susan.

Jesse saves a woman, Chloe, in a traffic accident that claims a jealous lover forced her off the road. Jesse looks out for his patient when her ex-boyfriend threatens her. Jesse rushes to Chloe's aid when her life is threatened by her boyfriend, and inadvertently kills him. Jesse finds himself the victim of Chloe's 'fatal attraction' as she pursues him voraciously. It gradually becomes clear that Chloe was the aggressor in her previous relationship.

When Steve is shot and falls into a coma, Mark does all in his power to find the assailant, even threatening a suspect with bodily harm. Mark finds himself the prime suspect when Steve's alleged attacker, Gordon Ganza, is murdered and all clues point directly towards Dr. Sloan.

When a young girl is rushed into the hospital in need of immediate treatment, but dies due to a HMO's negligence, Dr. Travis and Community General are sued for negligence. Dr. Sloan must choose between his ethical convictions and the hospital.

The hospital is the scene of a manhunt when a corpse comes to life and attacks Amanda, then leads Steve and the police on a chase throughout the entire building during which he kidnaps Jesse's girlfriend Steve. Mark learns the fugitive is on the run from NSA agents, who claim he's an international terrorist.

This episode takes place four months after Mark was convicted of murder. Steve is slowly recovering from his wounds and Mark is still rotting in prison. While Mark endures the taunts of fellow death row inmate Malcolm Trainor, Steve and Tanis Archer launch a rogue investigation to find Ganza's real killers.

A med student, surrogate daughter to Madison Wesley, is sent to a rehab program to kick drugs. Once there, she's wrongly accused of murdering a fellow patient. Mark sets his sights on bringing down the real culprit.

A spat between a girl and her boyfriend leads to an apparent murder, leaving the girl and her mother with a dead body, just as dinner guests Mark and Amanda arrive. Panic sets in, when the body disappears, the power goes out, the roads are impassable, and the attacks begin.

The Community General doctors are dragged back into the world of network television when producer Jackson Burley revamps the pilot for Dr. Danger, the television program based on Dr. Sloan. Mark and Steve investigate when Danger's competition, a masked magician who reveals the profession's secrets, is murdered, possibly as a ratings ploy.
