The Garage is a television programme following the staff of English Mobile Mechanics in Marbella, Spain. The programme follows the activities of the garage and initially it followed new staff hires as they adjusted to life in Spain whilst coping with their new jobs and their boss, Jock Campbell. As work in southern Spain depends on tourists or villa owners that winter elsewhere the Garage's trade is highly seasonal. Four out of the five new recruits found themselves with insufficient paid work so eventually announced that they were leaving and vacated their positions.

In January 2006 we took our first trip to Marbella to join the English Mobile Mechanics on their quest for expansion and fame under the watchful eye of Jock, the charismatic and sometimes oh-so-scary Scotsman who moved out to the Costa Del Sol nearly 20 years ago to set up his own mechanic business catering for ex-pats and their top of the range cars. The Garage was a 6 part docu-soap following the trials and tribulations of 5 new key staff hires as they adjusted to life in Spain whilst coping with their new jobs and the demands of their now infamous boss, Jock. Things inevitably didn’t go to plan, as four out of the five new recruits eventually announced that Jock wasn’t exactly the boss of their dreams and vacated their positions. But who could forget Stefan, the girl-crazy technician; Claire, the slightly receptionless receptionist; Danielle, the little blond tomboy who loved to ‘max things out’ and Wayne, the cheeky-chappy technician with the filthy mouth, who had never left the UK before?
