Now in last place, Sakamichi must find a way to pass 100 men and catch up to his team.

Realizing Kyoto Fushimi is ahead of the pack, Aoyagi hands Kaburagi a note from God so they can escape the pack. Written on the note are the lyrics to the anime song his senior Tadokoro claims saved him during the Inter-high, "Love Hime Pancake!" The two of them suddenly accelerate while singing together. Ahead of them, Hakone Academy catches up to Teshima and Sakamichi, and first-year climber Shinkai Yuto bares his teeth! After passing Teshima, Yuto issues a challenge to Sakamichi. And in order to protect Imaizumi and Naruko in the front, Sakamichi accepts his challenge!

The longest stage of the three day Inter-High begins on the second day. With orders to climb the pass and catch up to Kinjou and Imaizumi, Sakamichi begins riding.

Teshima desperately races up Irohazaka in pursuit of Manami, who's aiming for the mountain result. Manami is disinterested in Teshima's orindary riding, while Teshima tenaciously hangs on. Just when Teshima is given a chance to get a head...he stops?!

Hakone Academy's ace Ashikiba Takuto wins the three-way battle for the first day of the Inter-high! Naruko and Midousuji just narrowly tie for second. Having won all of the first day's number tags, Hakone Academy reclaims its throne. Naruko acts cheerful during the award ceremony, but his heart is trembling with frustration. Not only did Sohoku place second in all stages, but Kaburagi collapses from exhaustion, and a disquieting atmosphere settles on the team. Just as Sakamichi is looking anxious, former Sohoku captain Kinjou appears before him...

The race between Sakamichi and Imaizumi continues. Imaizumi has passed Sakamichi, but thanks to a seat adjustment from Miki, Sakamichi has more power than ever before.

The race seems to be going according to Kyoto Fushimi Midousuji's plan, but Hakone Academy regains their pace through their powerful trust.

Entrusted with Sohoku's hopes, Sakamichi charges straight ahead. Meanwhile, Manami shifts up gear by gear as he rides for the peak.

Naruko refuses to give up the lead as Sohoku races up the mountain. He uses his sprinters climb to help the team gain momentum, and just as he appears to be tired Naruko decides to debut his new move: the Armstrong Climb. Naruko's spirit ignites to crowd to cheer for Sohoku, but it has some unexpected consequences.

The welcoming race begins. Sakamichi is excited to, once again, race against Imaizumi and Naruko.

The first years learn about the previous year's Inter-High and the rivalry between Kinjou and Fukutomi.

With his new road racer, Sakamichi quickly moves up from sixth to fourth place and makes up a five minute deficit. The captain sees Sakamichi's determination and decides to test his skills.

As he closes in on the top of the mountain, Makishima moves into second place, in place to challenge his rival, Hakone's Toudou, for the lead.

Determined to become the King of the Mountain in Minegayama, Sakamichi raises his RPMs to catch up to Imaizumi.

After Sakamichi breaks through Teshima's impregnable guard, Teshima loses his will to fight. Aoyagi's insistence that they go to the Inter-High together, however, gives Teshima the strength to carry on.

Sakamichi finally catches up to Imaizumi and Naruko, stoking their competitive natures.

Sakamichi pedals to take his team's jersey to the finish line, and Manami strains to reach the peak. As both competitors ride all-out, the Inter-high comes to a close!

Only 100 meters to the sprint checkpoint. In his battle against Midousuji, Shinkai propels himself faster than ever. In the face of such overwhelming power, Midousuji removes the tape on his thighs and rides at full strength.

With only 700 meters until the first check point, Tadokoro, Naruko and Izumida are neck-and-neck.

Teshima and Aoyagi win their sprint race against Kyoto Fushimi and rejoin their team. Sakamichi enjoys racing with all six of his team members, but it doesn’t last long. Aoyagi’s legs, which have been pulling the team with all their might in order to catch up to Hakone Academy, have been in pain since the previous day and are nearing their limit. Kaburagi can’t hold back his tears as he watches the upperclassman’s back. By taking on Aoyagi’s hopes and racing for the team, Kaburagi experiences great personal growth of his own.

When Yuto first joined the team, he felt isolated from the other members due to his older brother Hayato. After seeing Yuto clash with his seniors, Ashikiba challenges him to a race. It ends with a crushing victory for Ashikiba, and Yuto learns to respect him and his strength. During the finish line sprint on the second day of the Inter-high, Ashikiba entrusts Yuto with the responsibility of being the team's ace. He overturns his own assumptions that he's a climber with a fierce sprint, catching up to Imaizumi and Midousuji! But as Midousuji and Yuto race against each other, Imaizumi thinks of his teammates and removes his own "lim

Believing Sakamichi and Imaizumi will catch up, Naruko withstands Midousuji's attacks and battles against Ashikiba and Yuto alone in the lead pack. Just when it looks like Naruko is finally about to fall, Sakamichi and Imaizumi appear behind him! Inspired by Naruko, together they charge ahead towards the mountain result and finish line! Now at a disadvantage, Midousuji tricks Mizuta into pulling for him by tempting him with the mountain result. Meanwhile, Sakamichi overwhelms the others with his awesome riding. Even Yuto is shocked when he sees the Mountain King demonstrate his true strength...

Sakamichi and Yuto's battle has begun. Yuto is excited to compete against Sakamichi, who has come to be called the Mountain King, and challenges him to a race to reach their teammates riding at the front. Yuto finds Sakamichi's willingness to "ride for the team" strange and races ahead. However, Imaizumi and Naruko realize Sakamichi is coming, and the race ends in a draw. However, Kuroda and the rest of Hakone Academy catch up, and they take control of the race. Will they go after them or wait for Teshima... Imaizumi is forced to make a decision...

Midousuji, who has released his full power and metamorphosized, and Naruko, who shows off the pure full-power sprint he's honed for this day, approach the finish line. But Kuroda's extremely close cornering and desperate assistance propels Ashikiba forward to catch up to them! "I am strong!" With a push on the back from Kuroda, Ashikiba enters a three-way finish line sprint with Midousuji and Naruko! As they throw their bikes towards the finish line, they cross at nearly the same time. Who will win the first day of the Inter-high...?!

Imaizumi challenges Sakamichi to a race up the school's steep rear gate slope. To spice up the competition, Imaizumi agrees to join the anime club if he loses. Sakamichi gives it his all, hoping to reform the club.

With the rear gate slope race over, Sakamichi returns to Akiba to buy some more anime goods. There, he runs into Naruko Shoukichi, a boy with a Kansai accent who's riding a bike.

There are 4 kilometers remaining to the finish line of the Inter-high's second day. Riding in the lead are Hakone Academy, Kyoto Fushimi, and Sohoku High, whose members were united through Sakamichi's efforts.

After falling to last place, Sakamichi catches up to Imaizumi, Naruko, Teshima, and Aoyagi. Admist their emotions, the five boys clash in an all out sprint to the finish line!

The Inter-high enters its final day. Before the race begins, as each school's tension reaches its peak, Machimiya of Hiroshima Kureminami appears before Sakamichi and his team.

When Imaizumi's frame breaks during his battle against Midousuji, Manami quickly overtakes him. Realizing he cannot catch Manami himself, he entrusts Sakamichi with the soul of Sohoku.

Onoda Sakamichi, a diehard anime fan, bikes 90 kilometers to and from Akiba to buy anime goods. Enrolled at Chiba Sohoku Public High School, he plans to join the anime club, hoping to make friends.

The teams reach the final climb of Day 3, a massive mountain stage. Hakone makes it's move and sends Manami, Toudou, and Fukutomi up the final mountain.

Sakamichi meets Kinjou, who tells him to become stronger. He learns that Makishima and Tadokoro have come to cheer on the team as well and tells the rest of the team shaken by the first day's loss. Team Sohoku resolves to approach the rest of the race with a new attitude. Meanwhile, the similarly defeated Midousuji of Kyoto Fushimi begins planning a new strategy for the second day's race... The morning of the second day dawns. Hakone Academy's Shinkai Yuto strikes up a conversation with Sakamichi. "Let's race at some point today."

Just before the finish line, Midousuji, astoundingly, closes in on the aces. In order to protect his ace, Imaizumi chases after Midousuji, pushing his body to the limit.

Sugimoto catches up to Kaburagi and Danchiku through his synchronized riding with his younger brother Sadatoki. The first-year welcoming race comes down to a sprint to the finish between favorites Kaburagi and Danchiku and Sugimoto! Who will win the race...?!

As Sohoku and Hakone Academy temporarily work together to catch up to the aces leading the race, Kyoto Fushimi’s Midousuji and Mizuta who were racing ahead fall back to their position. Surprised by their early slowdown, Naruko asks what they’re doing. However, Midousuji is secretly advancing his plans using Kumamoto Daiichi’s Ise who is riding behind them. Meanwhile, Yamaguchi, who has been tasked with an important job in the current phase, resolves to fulfill the unreasonable demands placed on him despite his mixed emotions.

The morning of the final day of the Inter-High has arrived. By working together, all six members of Sohoku have made it to this point. Hakone Academy has ridden with the sole intention of reclaiming their throne. Kyoto Fushimi has eliminated all excess and focuses only on victory. Along with the other schools, they stand at their respective starting lines with their eyes on the summit!

The 3rd and final day of the tournament in which Sakamichi and Team Sohoku compete for their second consecutive championship arrives, and Sakamichi pedals as hard as he can to catch up to Imaizumi as quickly as possible.

Midousuji’s strategy turns the rear pack into a giant swarm of piranhas. They swallow up riders one after another and eventually begin attacking the Sohoku and Hakone Academy teams that have been working together! Amidst the turmoil and confusion, Teshima is swallowed up by the pack. They desperately search for their partner, but betrayed by Midousuji, the pack loses speed. However, Teshima finds a ray of hope when he meets up with Aoyagi who falls back to help him. With well-coordinated teamwork, they chase after the riders ahead of them!

The now whole Hakone Academy team accelerates, and Naruko ignores Imaizumi's orders and goes after them alone! Later, Teshima joins up with Imaizumi and Sakamichi, but he can't increase his pace. Kishigami Komari appears with the rest of Kyoto Fushimi in tow, passing Sohoku! Frustrated by his lapse in judgment, Imaizumi speaks harshly to Teshima, while the sound of something breaking can be heard in his heart... Meanwhile, Hakone Academy and Kyoto Fushimi head into the sprint. It looks to be a race between Izumida and Midousuji... but instead a surprising man approaches...!

The battle for the sprint result has begun. Hakone Academy sends its captain and sprinter Izumida against Kyoto Fushimi's Kishigami Komari, the man obsessed with Izumida's "ultimate muscles!" Izumida recalls how Ashikiba and Kuroda encouraged him when he lost the previous year's Inter-high and felt conflicted about whether or not he was worthy of captaining the team. Carrying all his guilt and resolve on his back, Izumida sprints ahead! But Kishigami's obsession with the "ultimate muscles" drives him to keep up!

Teshima and Aoyagi break away from the pack to pursue the riders ahead of them, but Kyoto Fushimi stands in their way. In order to complete the objective given to him by Midousuji, Yamaguchi challenges Teshima and Aoyagi to a sprint that comes with a catch. As a climber, the terms are disadvantageous for Teshima, but they can’t move forward without accepting the challenge. Out of concern for Aoyagi, who can’t sprint at full speed due to an injured leg, Teshima pulls him along, and Aoyagi recalls how they met as he watches him…

Onoda is unable to recover from the shock of Makishima leaving the club to the go England before graduation. Meanwhile, in order to reclaim their crown, Hakone Academy's new team also begins preparing. Among them is a new team member...

It's day one of the Tochigi Inter-high. Hakone Academy's Doubashi takes the first result, and Hakone Academy's Minami beats Sohoku captain Teshima in the subsequent mountain stage to win the King of the Mountains title. The steadily advancing Hakone Academy sends their ace Ashikiba and his assist Kuroda ahead towards the finish line! Hakone Academy believed Sohoku would have a late start on "Black Cat" Kuroda and his exceptionally flexible legs, but two-year duo Imaizumi and Naruko chase after him. In the intense final phase of the race, the battle for the finish line finally begins!

Izumida and Kishigami's all out sprint is in its final stage when a fan's water bottle falls onto the course. Andy and Frank signal Izumida to slow down and avoid the obstacle. However, Izumida recalls his race against Tadokoro and Naruko at last year's Inter-high and charges ahead! And the winner is... Izumida! As the captain of Hakone Academy and the team's ace sprinter, he has fulfilled his heavy responsibility. Though Kishigami fails to satisfy his desire for muscles, he accepts his defeat.

Kaburagi and Aoyagi, who had fallen behind, catch up to their team, and Sohoku is finally reunited. With five of their members together, the team begins to see hope. Sakamichi thinks of his promise to race against Manami once again as he rides. Meanwhile, the lead pack has already left the flats and entered the mountain stage! In anticipation of the mountain result and the finish line that lies beyond it, the lead pack starts to pick up momentum. Hakone Academy's Manami is also thinking of Sakamichi, but Kuroda is cautious about Kyoto Fushimi's movements. And when Midousuji and his team attack, a back-and-forth battle begins!

Hakone Accademy holds its traditional fun ride to send off its third-years. In order to inherit the champions' will of Hakone Academy and overcome their idols, Izumida and the other members of the new generation go all out against the third-years!

After his meeting with Manami, Sakamichi is more excited than ever to take part in the Inter-High. In order to participate, Sakamichi realizes he must first ride 1,000 kilometers and begins matching paces and laps with Imaizumi and Naruko.

The winner of the race for a spot on the Inter-High team is Teshima. The defeated Koga entrusts the other six with his passionate will. And an unexpected duo shows up at the Sohoku High School training camp...

The finish line of the Inter-High's second day is close. Imaizumi, Yuto, and Midousuji's race to the finish line heats up! Having removed his limited, Imaizumi rides ahead of the others. Meanwhile, Midousuji thinks back on visiting his mother in the hospital to more clearly imagine himself grasping victory. Finally, Yuto recalls a time when he simply enjoyed riding his bike with his older brother Hayato. "Have you heard the demon that appears on Hakone's straight roads has a younger brother?" Yuto becomes a sprinting demon like his brother! Who will win the battle just before the finish line?

Feeling the passionate waves of Teshima's ride of the soul during the Minegayama Hill Climb, Sakamichi rides all out to catch up to Ashikiba! Who will win the race...?! After the race, Ashikiba meets with third-year Fukutomi. He has his own past... Later, Tadokoro starts his last race, the Bay Coast Criterium. A three-way race between keepers of the Sohoku sprinter's spirit, Tadokoro, Naruko, and Aoyagi begins!

Doubashi shows his grit as members of Hakone Cycling Club previously tried to expel him. Kaburagi and Aoyagi make a quiet comeback, but what is Doubashi hiding?

Sohoku and Hakone Academy are locked in a fierce battle! Just when it looks like the first day's victory will go to one of two teams, Kyoto Fushimi's Midousuji and Kishigami suddenly make a sneak attack from behind!! And the one who responds is...?!

Just before the race starts, Midousuji hastily adds Kishigami Komari to the Kyoto Fushimi High School team. Kishigami approaches Imaizumi, and... Meanwhile, the identity of the sixth member of Hakone Academy High School is revealed!

With Sakamichi and Tadokoro caught up, team Sohoku finally has all six members. As if pulled along by Sakamichi's efforts, Imaizumi and Naruko begin riding as one.

The race has begun! Teams begin to send their sprinters forward -- Hakone sends the new, imposing Doubashi ahead. Sohouku sends Aoyagi and Kaburagi, who still believes he is an all-rounder.

Arakita sacrifices himself to pull his team, and Hakone Academy accelerates as they carry on his will. As Sohoku does their best to keep up, Izumida exhibits a desperate sprint!

Fearing the team will get worse now that the third-years are gone, Imaizumi makes a shocking suggestion to Naruko in order to help the team win. After hearing his suggestion, Naruko heads back to his hometown of Osaka.

Arakita accepts Sakamichi's desperate request to cooperate. Together with Manami, the trio catches up to Machimiya through Arakita's beastly pulling. Hiroshima Kureminami's Ibiya proposes a "20 meter gap race" to Arakita. Machimiya reveals the fighting instincts he was hiding and rides completely out of control!

Although Makishima and Naruko have met up with the group, Sohoku remains at a disadvantage. However, knowing Sakamichi and Tadokoro are catching up from behind, they once again pursue the teams in the lead.

It's the night of the second day of the Inter-High. Sakamichi encounters Hakone Academy alum Toudou Jinpachi on a mountain road, who says he's riding because he received a call from someone. That man is... Makishima Yuusuke! As Sakamichi experiences a mix of surprise and joy, Makishima and Toudou begin to race! They tie again and again as they race a second, then a third time... Sakamichi's emotions rise as he watches them. After their race, Makishima tells Onoda to stay true to himself, and Onoda's resolve is renewed. Meanwhile, Manami's competitive spirit also swells upon hearing Toudou's words.

Sohoku's Onoda, Imaizumi, and Teshima participate in the fall Minegayama Hill Climb. Onoda is unable to pull himself out of his slump, he is overcome with uncertainty. Meanwhile, Hakone Academy has sent their second-year Ashikiba Takuto. As Ashikiba overwhelms the other riders with his "Metronome Dancing" that makes use of his towering 202 centimeters, Sohoku's new captain Teshima takes him on with his soulful riding!

After his loss on the second day of the Inter-high, Midousuji says he won't participate in tomorrow's race and leaves the hotel alone. While riding back to Kyoto, Midousuji runs into Sakamichi...

All sprinters race toward the first checkpoint. Leaders Tadokoro and Naruko are pursued by Hakone's Izumida, a formidable opponent who's trained just for this day.

Having completed the difficult training camp, Sakamichi has grown, but lacks the experience and strength of the other members. Disillusioned, he begins to give up on his dream of going to the Inter-High.

The mountain result line is just ahead. As Manami rides all out and Teshima rides at his limit, Manami suddenly has mechanical problems! Teshima pedals as hard as he can! Where is Onoda?

The sprint battle becomes heated! Kishigami rides with all his desires unleashed. He has been interested in muscles since he was a child, but he hid his interest due to his prestigious family's teachings. However, after meeting Midousuji in middle school and being told "if you want the truth, you have to offer up your entire self," his desires were awakened. The result line approaches, and Izumida and Kishigami's battle grows even more intense. Izumida rides as the captain of Hakone Academy. "I won't hide it anymore!" Kishigami announces, now completely unrestrained. How will the race end--?!

Teshima and Koga race for a spot on the Inter-High team. Koga drives Teshima into a corner with his powerful riding, but he has a past behind him. Meanwhile, Teshima desperately hangs on!

Shinkai's demon sprint allows Hakone to slowly pull ahead of Sohoku even further. Not wanting to lose any ground or teammates, the seniors of Sohoku step to the front of the line and decide to rotate the lead while gaining ground.

As Sohoku's team eagerly awaits the upcoming Inter-High, the Hakone club holds individual elimination races and fills all but one remaining spot.
