When Bill leaves for California to visit his girlfriend, Sharna comes to a major decision regarding his parole. Meanwhile, Nick's temptations kick in at a Mardi Gras festival with Kyle and Sandra, a fun night at the club celebrating Arielle's freedom quickly turns nasty and after Jovan misses a planned dinner with Artie and her son, Steven, a hostile confrontation ensues...putting Jovan's parole in jeopardy.

Henry, Darquavion and Uncle Joe's conversation about calling the police quickly turns explosive; Bill prepares to visit his girlfriend in California; Nick buys an expensive truck without having car insurance; Ari's post-prison journey begins.

Aaron makes a pivotal decision after his disagreement with David. Former inmate Jennifer refocuses and decides her own fate. Deven's grandmother gives Cathy and Daniel a shocking update about Deven. In a final attempt to smooth things out with Emily, Jason makes an unexpected and drastic move. Vada and Analisa are conflicted after making a choice that could put Mark's freedom in jeopardy.

After 18 years behind bars, Bill is finally released from prison and immediately hit with a long list of rules from devout Mark and Sharna. Darquavion's parole officer throws him in a complete panic, while Artie picks up inmate Jovan, who disappears shortly after getting out. As Kyle and Sandra prepare their home for Nick, a former drug addict who will be moving in, Robert writes inmate Aaron a shocking letter about their upcoming living situation.

Former inmate Mark vanishes from Analisa and Vada's house, pushing Analisa to her limits. Aaron borrows his roommate's car, only to go missing and send David on a wild search across Minneapolis. After Emily catches Jason with an unexpected houseguest, he attempts to smooth things over by taking her to the racetrack. Jennifer learns some surprising information about Cyndi's family.
